So, right off the bat, I wrote this blog post title and started giggling right away because I started singing “cake by the ocean” in my head. I’m keeping the title!
Anyways, if you haven’t guessed, this post is alllll about chocolate and other goodies. I don’t know about you, but this month has been jammed packed with stuffed. We’re always running around here and there without taking time to slow down and enjoy the little things. So on a sunny afternoon (so rare this month, it’s been pouring buckets!), Robin and I grabbed a blanket, our portable cocktail shaker and a whole lot of Bissinger’s chocolates, gummies and nuts. We headed right for Baker Beach, one of my favorite spots in the city.
I love Golden Hour in this city. Everything comes alive – especially the Golden Gate Bridge. It felt really nice to be away from the computer and out in fresh air with Robin. There were so many cute dogs on the beach! I loved snacking on my stash of Bissinger’s and watching them. I think my favorite flavor right now is the Blood Orange – such a great burst of citrus when you bite into the chocolate bar. Robin really loved the Carmel Glazed Pecans – I’m pretty sure he ate the whole bag that afternoon haha! If you are looking for something sweet for Valentines Day, I highly recommend checking out Bissinger’s. (Did you know they used to be the chocolatier for European nobility like King Louis XIVI?!) You can find them at Whole Foods, Draeger’s, Paradise Foods, Berkeley Bowl and New Leaf. OR, hop over to my Instagram or Facebook this week for a chance to win a whole bunch of treats for yourself!
So, you can’t really see in these photos, but the ocean was FOAMING that day! It honestly looks likes snow and it was really cool looking, but also kinda strange for us Midwesterners who haven’t seen this happen on such a mass scale before. We Googled it when we got back home and learned that it’s just algae that was kicked up by all the rain we’ve had and floated to shore. So, the ocean is not dying! Phew! It made for an extra fun date day by playing with it after snacks!
