LA VICTORIA, my favorite salsa brand, just had their 100 year birthday! To celebrate, LA VICTORIA teamed up with local San Francisco artists and hosted a wonderful art show and dinner party at the Here Collective in the Mission last week. Robin and I dressed up and were so excited to spend the evening soaking in art and tasting delicious recipes featuring LA VICTORIA salsas.
The evening was warm and sunny, something rare for San Francisco in June (usually it’s fog for the entire month!) The Here Collective is a beautifully rustic and open space that made for the perfect venue to host an art show contest and dinner. There were 5 artists who showcased their pieces around the theme of a modern, west coast lifestyle while giving a nod to LA VICTORIA. There was photography, abstract paintings, drawings and everything in between. The winner won $7,500! We started the evening out with a cocktail hour to give time to view the pieces, then it was dinner time.
Man oh man, was this dinner amazing! There were three courses of meats followed by two desserts cooked by Gustavo Romero of Calvera. My favorite was nopalitos (cactus) quesadillas – I first had cactus while visiting Austin this past spring and loved it. All the flavors, of course, came alive with various LA VICTORIA products. You can find LA VICTORIA in the salsa aisle of most major grocery stores – perhaps cook up some tasty nopalitos quesadillas of your own this summer?
Thank you for LA VICTORIA for inviting me to this event and sponsoring this post!
