I’ve been dying to get Robin to go to the spa with me. He’s always claimed he doesn’t like the idea, but common – facials and massages are so great! I knew I just had to figure out a way to get him into Burke Williams Spa and they would take care of the rest…
With the wedding just 5 weeks away, National Relaxation Day timed perfectly for a pre-wedding spa day. We booked appointments for a massage and facial at Burke Williams in downtown San Francisco. Robin was so not into the idea at first, which brings me to my three tips for getting your husband to go to the spa with you.
- Ease him into the beauty “stuff” beforehand. For the past 3-4 weeks, every Monday I’ve been making him to a mud face mask with me at home to ease him into the idea of a facial. He protested the first time, but by the 3rd or 4th, he was into it. Step on complete!
- Go to a large spa that has all the amenities: Some places that offer facials or massages are tinier and skimp on all the amenities like a lounge, tea, whirlpools, saunas, etc. When Robin and I checked into the Burke William spa, Robin came out of the men’s side all excited because it had a sauna AND a hot tub to soak it. More amenities make it feel more luxurious for your guy and less like a beauty treatment.
- Just book, don’t ask. At the end of the day, just book a session and don’t ask your man when he wants to go- this tip is straight from Robin’s mouth! He told me he went because we had an appointment. If you ask when he wants to go or what kind of treatment he wants, he’ll say he doesn’t want any of it. Sometimes, girls just know best…. hehe.
I hope these tips help you get your man to the spa so you can celebrate National Relaxation Day! If these tips work, I’d love if you leave a comment below so I can hear how your boyfriend/fiance/husband like his spa day! Also, if you are in the Bay Area, check out Burke Williams. It’s fiance approved!
