I like red, my sister likes white, and my mom only drinks rosé. Holidays are meant for good wine, but it’s challenging in a family like mine when we all drink different blends. Oy vey!
There’s a solution to this problem: Kuvée, aka the newest way to drink wine. The simplest way to describe Kuvée is that it’s a smart wine bottle (like a smart home, but for wine). It reads your bottles of wine and knows everything from the history of the blend to how much is left in the bottle. It also keeps wine fresher 10x longer than a simple cork — so we loved using it this holiday week when we wanted to open both the pinot and the chard for a little outdoor wine tasting in the Wisconsin countryside.
Pstt – fun fact: this trunk is from 1942 and has an old camp packing list on the inside lid. 100% vintage.
The pinot is from Schug, a winery I’ve visited on the edge of Napa Valley. I’ve turned into a wine snob since moving to California and Kuvée keeps up with my snobbery by only offering the best blends and recommending new ones it knows I’d like.
If you’ve been reading Whimsy Soul for a while, you know that one of my favorite things to do is drink outdoors. This little outdoor wine tasting was fun to put together. If you want to build your own boho chic wine tasting, it’s pretty easy. Find some colorful blankets, pillows to lounge on, candles if you got ’em, your favorite decorations and something to use as a table to set your Kuvée and snacks on. Bonus points for string lights and a record player! If you live in the North, move it all indoors next to the fire for a cozy night in.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Thank you Kuvée for sponsoring this post.
