Natural Shampoo for Color Treated Hair

Natural Shampoo for Color Treated Hair

Here’s something I find funny: I once tricked a very well-known LA hair colorist into thinking my hair color is natural. His jaw almost dropped when I told him I dye it (and that it’s box dye!) I’m a natural dirty blonde but have been sporting strawberry red hair for a few years now. I love this color, I feel like it’s so “me”. On my kick of switching up my beauty routine and trying to focus on more natural beauty products when I can, I was having trouble finding the best natural shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair.

I finally found Hair Food, a line that’s focused on the nutrition found in power foods. They believe that your hair deserves the same great things you put into your body. Everything they make are free of parabens, mineral oils, silicones, sulfates, or dyes and the best part – they make great products! I’ve been using the Hair Food Sulfate Free Color Protect Collection for a couple of weeks and have already noticed a difference in my hair health. It’s soft, has volume AND the color isn’t fading as fast. Win, win, win, right? Some shampoo/conditioner brands pack harsh chemicals into their bottles, but Hair Food doesn’t, which helps color stick around longer.

Everyone knows box dyes can be harsh on your hair, so I don’t like when the color fades quickly and I have to redye it every 4 weeks. With Hair Food, it sticks around longer and I can rest easy knowing I didn’t subject my hair to even MORE chemicals. You can find Hair Food in most CVS stores and online!

What are your thoughts on Hair Food? Have you tried it?
