How To Get That Perfect Bold Red Lip

If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, you know that I love a good bold lip, especially in bright red. Nothing screams “Hey, I’m Here” than a bold red lip, but I used to really struggle with maintaining lip color for more than a few hours.

My lipstick always seems to rub off on everything (the only upside is I always know which cup is mine due to lip stains). Then I discovered Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick which is hands-down the BEST lipstick I have ever used. It goes on smooth since it’s a liquid, is easy to apply, and when it dries it stays on all day. Like actually all day. Once, I put it on in the morning and it lasted all day at work, though a workout and even still look decent after a shower. I now have this lipstick in 3 different colors and wear them almost every day.

When I want to wear a bold red lip with Stila, I first always use a lip scrub to remove any flakes and smooth my lip out. Chloe Meranda just sent me some of her products and I adore her lip scrub. She uses all natural ingredients, so my sensitive skin doesn’t hate me after I scrub my lips with brown sugar and other natural goodies vs. other lip scrubs. Afterwards, I always use chapstick or balm to moisturize my lips so they don’t dry out during the day. I’ve been using Chloe Meranda’s Coconut Lip Balm everyday and love how great it smells and how smooth it makes my lips feel. The next step is carefully applying the liquid lipstick, which can be tricky since because it stays so well. If you goof, it’s hard to remove it. I like to paint the edges of my lips to act as a liner, then fill the rest in. The key with Stila’s Stay All Say Liquid Lipstick is to wait a good 10-15 minutes before eating or drinking anything. It needs that long to really dry and set on your lips. When I try to rush that wait-time, the lipstick always rubs off sooner than it should.
