My friend Vanessa owns Crafturday, a jewelry and decor company. She makes the most wonderful bohemian, free spirited decor – like this beautiful fringe wall hanging! She was kind enough to help me pick one out for this little corner that I’ve been working on for the past few months.
Since we’ve moved in, I’ve been using a storage system I found abandoned in our apartment building (sshh). It finally started to fall apart a while back, so that was enough motivation for me to actually give this corner of our living room a little love.
I didn’t want to break the bank on this project, so I scouted Ikea for this “stair” storage piece. I loved how the different levels offered a chance to display plants and decor on them, making the space feel bigger than it actually is. The drawers came white, which looked tacky, so I spray painted them gold for a pop of color. For the past year I’ve been saving our old coffee containers and I finally had a purpose for them: pots! So they also got a quick gold makeover. I stacked them on books I’ve had in storage for more visual texture.
I’m a big believer in color in the home. Color and artwork makes me happy. This Crafturday fringe wall hanging helps brings that colorful happiness to our apartment.
The elephant artwork is something I made my freshman year in college. I loved the color it brings to this corner. Lastly: my new Crafturday fringe hanging! I picked this gradient hanging because the grey matches our comforter. Our bed is directly across from this wall. The pink picks up the pinks in the rug below, tying it all together. And with that, my little corner is complete!

Aww this is such a cool space 🙂 love love what you did with it. And spray painting coffee containers gold and using them as flower pots?! Genius. I need to try that.
