I’m usually skeptical of everything on social media and scrolled past MAKE Beauty about a hundred times before I gave in. I ordered a few things, then a few more, and now I’m deep enough into this brand to give you a full MAKE Beauty review.
I’ve been reviewing beauty products for Whimsy Soul for over 12 years now. At this point I approach every new brand almost like a beauty editor would.
What I’ve learned after all that testing is that most brands have one or two hero products that everyone raves about, and then the rest of the line is pretty average.
After testing several products, MAKE falls somewhere in between. So let’s get into it.
TL;DR: MAKE Beauty is one of the best new makeup and skincare brands I’ve tested in years. If you only try one thing, make it the Cream Supreme High Impact Lipstick. You can thank me later.
Is MAKE Beauty Legit?
MAKE Beauty launched in 2013 as one of the first beauty brands to communicate in a voice that felt actually human, celebrating individuality and authentic expression.
The brand was relaunched by owner and creative director Carrie Barber with a focus on cleaner care ingredients, sustainable practices, and multifunctional products.
I was skeptical at first too. But after months of working these products into my real daily care routine, I can say the formulas are solid, the color payoffs are real, and the results are consistent across everything I’ve tried.
This isn’t a social media beauty trend that looks good in an image and disappoints in real life. It’s a legitimately good makeup and skin care line, and it’s become one of my favorite beauty brands this year.
My Favorite MAKE Beauty Product (The One That Started It All)
Okay I have to start here because this is what made me fall completely in love with the brand.
The MAKE Beauty Cream Supreme High Impact Lipstick in the shade Radicchio.
I have been on a lifelong hunt for the perfect red lip. I got my colors done here in San Francisco and already knew I could wear red, but I look best in cherry or brick red versus anything pinky or orange-toned.
Radicchio is exactly that. It’s a deep, slightly warm red that looks like I was born wearing it. The cream formula is super comfortable. It’s got vitamin E and advanced emollients that keep your lips from feeling dry, and the color is vivid in one single swipe.
I wear this to the grocery store, to dinner, at home on a Tuesday for absolutely no reason. I always get compliments on it. ALWAYS.
It also comes in a refillable tube which I appreciate more than I expected to. Soft on your lips, strong on color, and one of my all-time favorite beauty products. Definitely start here if you’re new to the brand.
MAKE Beauty Hydrascape Moisturizing Reverse Emulsion Review
This one is a little unexpected but hear me out.
The Hydrascape Moisturizing Reverse Emulsion sits in that interesting crossover space between a skin care serum and a primer, and it has become a non-negotiable part of my care routine on days when I really need my makeup to last.
I do my normal skin care in the morning, and then on days where I know I’m going to be sweating, running around, or just need everything to stay put, I apply this after my skin care and before my base.
It’s a water-in-oil reverse emulsion formulated with vegan ceramides, concentrated phytosterols, and fermented aloe (5x more hydrating than standard aloe per the brand). The care ingredients here are impressive.
What it does is leave your skin plump, hydrated, and glowing in a way that a regular silicone primer can’t because it’s actually doing real skin care work at the same time.
My complexion looks more even, my coverage goes on more smoothly, and my skin stays hydrated throughout the day instead of getting that dry-and-cakey situation by afternoon.
Super impressed with this one, and it’s a product I think a lot of the skin care obsessed girlies are going to love it.
MAKE Beauty Multi-Chromatic Metal-Reflecting Eyeshadow Review
This one is specifically for my concert and festival people. The past few years I’ve been going pretty hard on live music. Bottlerock in Napa, Outside Lands in San Francisco, and I saw Taylor Swift three different times.
Every single one of those events, I want BIG eyes. Bold, metallic, unhinged looks. That’s the vibe.
The Multi-Chromatic Metal-Reflecting Eyeshadow in Metallic Spinach and Quartz is $24 and delivers exactly that. The formula is ultra-creamy and buildable, so you can do a light wash of soft color or go fully foiled and dramatic depending on what you’re going for.
Zero fallout too, which if you’ve ever done a glittery eye look and ended up with sparkle all over your face and shirt, you know how much that matters.
I pair this with the Continuum Gel Eyeliner Pencil for festival days or any night I want a dramatic liner situation. Normally $23 but currently on final sale for $11.50, so if you’ve been eyeing it, now is the time.
It’s waterproof, stays put all day, and comes with a built-in sharpener and blending brush. Love this combo so much.
MAKE Beauty Skin Mimetic Concealer Review
My current holy-grail under-eye concealer is better, but the MAKE Beauty Skin Mimetic Concealerat $28 is impressive for everything else on my face, and the skin mimetic formula is doing something really interesting.
Here’s why I love it. I have freckles and I don’t like when makeup completely buries them. I want coverage but I also want to still look like myself. This mimetic concealer hits that sweet spot in a way most face concealers don’t.
It covers dark circles and smooths out discoloration, but you can still see my skin texture and my freckles underneath. It doesn’t look like a mask. It looks like better skin.
The skin mimetic formula uses red algae extract, adenosine, and green coffee extract plus caffeine to reduce the look of dark circles. It’s lightweight, radiant-finish, and buildable so you can layer it over your base or use it for spot coverage on blemishes too.
I’ve been wearing it for several weeks and it’s become one of my everyday favorites. It’s worth it if you want medium, natural-looking coverage that doesn’t erase your skin. But skip if you need heavy, full-coverage concealment.
MAKE Beauty Infinite Hold Brow Gel Review
I’ve been getting my brows laminated at Benefit Cosmetics every couple of months for about a year now. Brow lamination is great but you still need a brow gel on top to set everything and keep it looking intentional all day.
The Infinite Hold Brow Gel is the best brow gel I’ve used since starting lamination. It’s clear, it actually stays clear all day (some brow gels dry white or flaky and it looks terrible), and it holds my brows in their laminated shape from morning to night.
I’ve been running around Sacramento in this and they still look perfect by the end of the day. No flaking, no buildup, no crunchy brows. Just clean, sculpted, feathery brows that look like I just walked out of the salon.
If you’re doing brow lamination, grab this.
I also use the Infinite Brow Nano Pencil to fill in any sparse spots before the gel goes on. The micro tip creates tiny hair-like strokes that look completely natural, not drawn-on.
It’s double-ended with a small brush on the other side to blend everything out. These two brow products together are a game changer for my routine.
MAKE Beauty Diffusion Dew Skin Tint Review
The Diffusion Dew Skin Tint is $32 and my pick for low-effort, high-glow days.
It’s sheer and buildable, formulated with niacinamide and adenosine, and it adds this really pretty luminous glow without looking like you’re wearing heavy makeup.
On days where I just want to even out my skin tone and look like a well-rested human, this is what I reach for. It blurs and brightens slightly, gives your skin but better finish, and it doesn’t cover my freckles which I love.
Light coverage, serious glow. If you prefer full coverage foundation every single day this probably won’t be enough for you, but if you like a lighter, more natural base it’s really lovely.
What I Haven’t Tried Yet (But It’s On My List)
I have not gotten to the MAKE Beauty blush or pressed powder yet but they are absolutely next on my list.
Given that every single product I’ve tried from this brand has impressed me in one way or another, I have high expectations and I’ll update this post once I’ve had enough time to really test them.
Is MAKE Beauty Worth the Price?
Yes, with some context.
MAKE Beauty is not cheap. These are not drugstore prices. But the quality is there across every product I’ve tested, and that consistency is what gets me. Most beauty brands at this price point have one standout product and a line of fillers.
I didn’t find any duds in the MAKE Beauty products I’ve tried so far. For anyone looking for the best new makeup products in 2026, this brand is a serious contender and one I think is going to keep trending as more people discover it.
If you’re going to start somewhere, start with the Cream Supreme Lipstick.
MAKE Beauty Review FAQs
What is the MAKE Beauty Skin Mimetic Concealer?
The Skin Mimetic Concealer is a $28 buildable, medium coverage concealer with a radiant finish. The skin mimetic formula uses red algae, adenosine, and caffeine to blend seamlessly into skin, conceal dark circles and blemishes, and hydrate at the same time.
It’s designed to look like skin rather than coverage, which is why I love it for everyday wear.
When did MAKE Beauty launch?
MAKE Beauty first launched in 2013 and was relaunched under current owner and creative director Carrie Barber with updated formulations focused on cleaner care ingredients and sustainability.
Where can I buy MAKE Beauty products?
You can shop MAKE Beauty directly through their website or through my ShopMy links. I have everything I personally use linked throughout this post.
Is MAKE Beauty good for a skin care routine?
Yes, actually. Several of the products do double duty as skin care.
The Hydrascape Reverse Emulsion works beautifully as a skin care step before makeup, and the Skin Mimetic Concealer and Diffusion Dew Skin Tint are both loaded with skin care ingredients like adenosine, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid that actively improve your skin while you wear them.
How long does the MAKE Beauty Cream Supreme Lipstick last?
It lasts a solid few hours on me. It’s not an all-day no-transfer formula but it’s comfortable and creamy enough that touching it up feels easy and pleasant. I reapply after eating and it looks great all evening.
Is MAKE Beauty good for everyday makeup?
100% yes. The skin tint, mimetic concealer, brow products, and Hydrascape emulsion are all things I reach for in my everyday routine. Nothing about this line feels fussy or high-maintenance.
What MAKE Beauty shade should I get for the lipstick?
If you can wear warm or cool reds, Radicchio is my personal love. If you’re not sure about your undertones, I’d recommend getting your colors done first (it changed everything for me) or reaching out to MAKE Beauty directly for shade guidance.
Let me know if you’ve tried MAKE Beauty in the comments and tell me what you’re loving! And if you pick up anything from this post, I want to hear how it goes for you.
