I’m OBSESSED with this orange open-back dress! I was showing it off on Stories the other day since I wore it to shoot around this pink house in San Francisco that TOTALLY feels like some tropical place, not a foggy Northern California city.
Some suggestions of what this house looks like were Miami, Cuba, Key West on Charleston. (It’s actually on 2oth and Wisconsin Stree in Potrero Hill). Even if you aren’t planning on going to Miami this year, you’ll still love this open-back dress from Target.
Vacation-Ready Orange Open Back Dress Under $40
First Off — it’s comfy AF!! Vacation AND couch-approved. I’ve tried open back dresses before that hit in all the wrong spots, but this one is *chef kiss*. I’m actually wearing a Size M, which is a size I haven’t been able to fit into for YEARS – that’s how stretchy this fabric is. Take note and size down 1-2 sizes for the best fit.
I personally don’t wear a bra with it to make it even comfier (bless up tities for being the kind I don’t always need support with) but if you need to, I would wear stick-ons to keep the back open. These are the best stick on bras for open back dresses.
I know this is going to be one of my favorite dresses for beach vacations this year – it shouts all those tropical vibes when you dress it up with a straw hat and a straw bag. The bag is thrifted from years ago – that’s where I get all my best unique bags, so if you’re on the hunt for this look, hit up your local thrift store!
The hat is my go-to foldable straw hat from target that can be smushed all I want in a suitcase but still hold shape (perfect for trips!) Here, I also layered on a gold chain necklace, flower earrings from this small boutique that’s no longer in business (similar style here), rose-tinted sun glasses (similar) and green pointed flats.
Usually, I don’t pair green with orange, but sometimes contrasting colors really work. Be bold! I would also style this with espadrilles if I wanted a heel look.
If you’re on the hunt for tropical dresses for this summer, this baby is going to be your gal. It’s one of their new arrivals for spring, but so it’ll probably be in stock for a while but if you’re loving this look, snap it up sooner than later. Also don’t forget to check your physical stores if you’re size is out of stock online!
Pro tip: if anything you love at Target, especially clothes, is out of stock in your size, just keep checking the site twice a day until it comes back. They’re always reading items when people return orders!
Here’s to Hot Vax Summer everyone and lots of cute yet comfy outfits.
