Purdy and Figg just launched in America and I got to be one of the first people to try out their cleaning products and let me say: they smell amazing.
And I’ll admit it: I’ve always been the kind of person who actually likes cleaning days (Virgo problems?) There’s something about waking up on a Saturday, blasting music, wiping everything down, and then sitting back in a fresh space that feels so satisfying. But what I don’t love? The chemical smell that usually lingers after.
That’s why when I heard Purdy and Figg, the UK brand that went viral for making natural, essential oil–based cleaners, finall came to the U.S. in fall 2025, I couldn’t wait to try them. I was so grateful they sent me a Start Kit to test out.
My friend in the UK had already been raving (“they’re so good” and “the floral and woody ones are my favorite”), so I knew I had to test these out myself.
Here’s my honest Purdy and Figg review, covering what they are, how they actually cleaned in my apartment, the scents I loved most, and how they stack up against other refillable brands like Grove Co. and Method.
About Purdy And Figg
Back in 2018, best friends Purdy Rubin and Charlotte Figg started mixing natural cleaning formulas in a garage because they wanted something safer and more enjoyable to use at home. The result was Counter Clean, a multi surface cleaner infused with essential oils.
With chemist Dr. Anna Slastanova and family support, that garage project grew into a UK based brand known for refillable glass bottles, plant based ingredients, and really good scents. After winning over homes across the UK and Europe, they are expanding to the United States in October 2025.
What I Tested
- Counter Clean concentrates and a glass Bottle for Life
- Bathroom Bliss concentrates for sinks, tile, and fixtures
- A mix of signature and seasonal scents, including Grounding Vetiver, Patchouli and Cedarwood, and Uplifting Citrus
Purdy and Figg is a concentrate system. You pour the 20 ml concentrate into the glass bottle, fill with tap water, shake, and you are ready to clean. It is simple, low waste, and the bottles look nice on the counter.
Scent Review
I am a scent person. If my home smells great, I am happy. Purdy and Figg’s essential oil blends smell elevated, not perfumey, and they linger for a few hours.
Grounding Vetiver
This one stole my heart. I cleaned my bathroom sink with Grounding Vetiver and could still smell that warm, earthy note hours later. It turns my tiny city bathroom into a mini spa. I love using it after our Saturday morning clean so the whole apartment smells fantastic for the rest of the day.
Patchouli And Cedarwood
Cozy, woodsy, and a little smoky in the best way. If you like heritage home vibes, you will love this.
Uplifting Citrus
Bright and fresh. It gives me classic clean kitchen energy without the sharp chemical hit you get from traditional sprays.
Seasonal Scents
The seasonal blends I tried felt sophisticated and balanced. I would buy them as candles and hand soap if the brand offered them. Please make these, thank you.
How They Cleaned In My Apartment
Kitchen, Dining Table, Stone, And Wood
Counter Clean is pH neutral. I used it on my sealed stone counters, wood coffee table, and stainless steel sink. I did not have issues with streaking. On stainless I buffed with a dry cloth after spraying and got a nice finish.
Bathroom
Bathroom Bliss cut through toothpaste spatter and hard water spots on the sink. Chrome fixtures looked shiny. On mirrors and shower glass, I sprayed onto a cloth first and wiped to avoid over wetting. I got a streak free finish.
My Real Life Routine
I am practical about germs. I still use Clorox wipes on high touch zones like bathroom sinks, toilet seats, and the coffee table when needed. Then I follow with Purdy and Figg for that second pass clean and the scent payoff. Disinfect first, then the pretty finish. Best of both worlds.
Sustainability And Packaging
The system uses concentrates and reusable glass bottles. That means less single use plastic taking up space under my sink. The bottles feel sturdy, look chic, and I do not hide them away. When something looks nice, I reach for it more.
Membership And Refills
There is a membership that ships refills every 90 days. You can pick signature scents or rotate seasonal blends. Deliveries are easy to pause or adjust. I received a one off kit to test, but I plan to join so I always have fresh scents on hand. Scent is a big part of why I clean more often, so this setup works for me.
I haven’t had a chance to test the customer service on their membership yet but will update this post when I have.
What I Like

- Reusable glass bottles reduce plastic and look good on the counter
- pH neutral formula played nicely with my sealed stone, wood, stainless, and glass when sprayed onto a cloth
- Seasonal scent drops make cleaning feel special
- Simple two product system covers almost everything I need
What I Would Change
- I want matching candles and hand soap in the same scents
- U.S. pricing and exact launch date are still TBD
- If you prefer unscented or fragrance free, this line will not be your match
Who This Is For
- Scent lovers who want a clean home that smells like a boutique spa
- Households looking to reduce single use plastic with refill concentrates
- People who want a simple setup that still feels fun to use
Tips For Best Results
- Patch test delicate or specialty surfaces
- For mirrors and glass, spray onto a cloth first
- Disinfect first when needed, then use Purdy and Figg for the finish and scent
- Keep one signature scent and one seasonal scent so you can rotate by mood
Purdy And Figg Vs Other Brands
I’ve used Method, Grove Co, and Blueland over the years, so I feel like I have a good sense of how Purdy and Figg stacks up.
Scent
This is where Purdy and Figg shine. Their essential oil blends smell elevated and linger in the room for hours. Method and Grove Co scents fade faster, and Blueland’s are even more subtle. If fragrance matters to you, Purdy and Figg wins by a long shot.
Everyday Cleaning
All four handle everyday messes just fine. I’ve used them on sticky counters, toothpaste in the sink, and light grease without issue. For heavy disinfecting, I still keep Clorox wipes around, but performance across these eco-friendly brands is similar.
Refills And Waste
- Blueland: Zero plastic tabs that dissolve in water — super sustainable, especially for my Whimsy Homes cabin where I need a lot of product on hand.
- Method and Grove Co: Refill pouches cut down on waste compared to traditional bottles.
- Purdy and Figg: Concentrates with reusable glass bottles. Not only sustainable, but the bottles are the prettiest of the bunch.
Convenience
- Method: Easiest to grab in a pinch at Target or the grocery store.
- Grove Co: Subscription is straightforward, but sometimes I end up with extra products I don’t need.
- Blueland: Great for stocking a large Airbnb since you can store the small tabs without clutter.
- Purdy and Figg: Their membership keeps you stocked, but it’s more about the ritual and scent experience than speed or mass availability.
Product Range
- Blueland: Broadest range — hand soap, laundry detergent, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, and more.
- Method and Grove Co: Good variety with classic household cleaners and soaps.
- Purdy and Figg: Focused on two hero products (Counter Clean and Bathroom Bliss) with seasonal scents.
Bottom line:
- If you care most about scent and a spa-like clean, Purdy and Figg wins.
- For plastic-free convenience across multiple categories, Blueland is fantastic (I’ll keep using it at our cabin).
- If you need easy access at a store, Method is best.
- For a solid eco-subscription, Grove Co still works well.
FAQs
When Are Purdy And Figg Launching In The U.S.
Fall 2025. Exact date is TBD as of September 2025.
Are The Ingredients Natural
The brand formulates with plant based ingredients and essential oils. That aligns with my experience and why the scents smell elevated.
Are The Products Safe Around Pets
I clean with a window open, avoid spraying near pet bowls, and do not let pets lick wet surfaces. Birds are sensitive, so I keep them out of the room while cleaning. If your pet has allergies, check with your vet.
Which Surfaces Can I Use Them On
Counter Clean is pH neutral and worked on my sealed stone counters, wood table, quartz side table, stainless steel, and glass when sprayed onto a cloth. Bathroom Bliss handled sink, tile, chrome, and shower glass. Always patch test precious surfaces.
Do The Scents Last
Yes. I notice the scent for a few hours after a clean, and then it softens.
Purdy And Figg Ingredients
One of the reasons I was excited to try Purdy and Figg is their focus on natural, plant-based formulas. The brand is very clear about what goes into their concentrates:
- 100% plant-based ingredients
- Essential oil blends for fragrance (no synthetic perfumes)
- Non-toxic formulas that are safe to use around kids and pets (though like any essential oil product, you’ll want to keep pets from licking freshly sprayed surfaces)
- pH neutral cleaners, which means they’re gentle enough for most sealed surfaces like wood, stone, and stainless steel
What you won’t find in Purdy and Figg:
- No harsh chemicals
- No parabens, phthalates, or synthetic dyes
- No single-use plastics
I appreciate that they aren’t just “greenwashing.” The formulas feel effective — my counters and sinks look clean — but I also know I’m not filling the apartment with unnecessary toxins. It’s that balance of performance + peace of mind that makes me keep reaching for them.
You’ll Want To Use Purdy And Figg When They Launch
After using Purdy and Figg across my apartment, I get the hype. These are not just nice smelling sprays. They clean well for everyday messes, the bottles are beautiful, and the essential oil blends make my home smell like I just walked into a spa.
I will still keep disinfecting wipes for high touch areas, but for daily wipe downs and that fresh home feeling, Purdy and Figg is my new go to and I’ll be placing an order now that they have launched formally in the US.
If you care about scent and sustainability, add them to your cleaning cart when they launch in the U.S. this fall. I plan on joining the membership so the seasonal scents keep rolling in.
