While shopping at Macy’s a few weeks ago, I found this champagne flower simple syrup kit and got so excited about the idea of making things like lavender champagne or bubbles with violet (I’ve never even heard of a violet champagne before, it would be a totally new flavor profile!) We’ve been waiting for a special evening to break out the different syrups and though the premiere of the new Bachelorette was perfect!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we love to do a weekly Monday Night Bachelorette (or Bachelor) Wine video sharing what we’re drinking while watching. It’s a fun way to showcase our favorite wineries, new discoveries, etc.
While we had a lot of flower flavor options, we decided to make a cocktail recipe with the rose and hibiscus syrups. Keep reading for our simple yet tasty Rose Hibiscus Champagne Cocktail Recipe! You’ll love it.
This simple champagne cocktail recipe can be made a couple of different ways. You can make it with our without gin. If you want an extra kick, use the gin! It’s good either way and tastes a lot like a spritz, perfect for summer drinking!
Ingredients
Flower Cocktail Kit (hibiscus + rose flavors)
1 bottle sparkling wine
Gin (optional)
1 Orange
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Instructions
Make sure your bubbly is chilled! This recipe uses the hibiscus + rose flavors, though you are welcome to modify and use a different flavor if you want!
Step One: Make the Simple Syrup
of course, you can buy simple syrup from the store and skip this step but we prefer to make simple syrup at home in bigger batches and then just store the leftovers for another day. It’s really easy to make simple syrup at home and very cheap. Here’s how:
- Pour 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar into a pan.
- Note: you can adjust more or less depending on how big of batch you want to make. Just make sure the water and sugar are equal parts!
- Turn stove to medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Immediately remove from heat + let cool
Step Two: Make the Cocktail!
- Pour bubbly into a champagne flute about 2/3 of the way full.
- Add in 1oz gin (optional)
- Add in 1 oz homemade simple syrup (more of less depending on your wanted sweetness level.)
- Add in 1/4 bottle of the hibiscus flower flavor
- Add in 1/4 bottle of the rose flower flavor
- Stir
- Top with an orange peel
- Serve!

You can make this as a big batch for a Bachelorette viewing party or glass by glass if you’re drinking solo. I love sparkling wine, but too much of it can give me a sour stomach. BUT, mixing it with gin and these flower syrups cut that acidity so it’s easier to drink!
I hope this helps you find your new favorite wine cocktail to drink while watching the Bachelorette. Here’s to a season of drama, tears, roses and ~ doing it for the right reasons~.
