I’m pretty obsessed with this yellow plaid bikini. If you can’t tell from my recent posts on Instagram, this is my go-to swimsuit of the season. Since getting it from & Other Stories, I’ve packed it for multiple trips & have worn it poolside in Palo Alto, at the hot tub in Guerneville, event at a river next to Redwoods in Northern California.
I’m actually pretty surprised I’m loving so hard on a bikini. Usually, I’m a one-piece sort of gal as I feel more confident in them, but this high waisted cut keeps it all in while still being breathable. I love the color – it’s not every day you find a yellow swimsuit that looks so GOOD! It may be hard to tell on photos, but there is a peplum pattern to the fabric, which makes it feel extra elevated.
When I first tried this on I was actually worried that the top was a bit too large, but that was before I realize there are hidden notch to adjust the band in the back *facepalm* That’s actually my biggest struggle with clothing. As a curvy girl, my hips and butt are big, but I have smaller breasts than a lot of other size 12 women have. Sometimes it’s hard ot find bottoms and tops that fit together!
& Other Stories is one of my favorite stores to shop uber unique pieces from. I got my famous “wolf in sheep’s clothing” ruffle top there! (Pictured below.) I get compliments every time I wear it. The pattern and cut of the top is just too fun, just like this swimsuit!
Here’s a pro-tip for shopping at & Other Stories: bookmark your favorites and wait for a sale. They have them about 3-4 times a year and you can get pieces for as low as $25 (that’s how I bought my ruffle top!) They don’t seem to cycle through pieces as quickly as fast fashion stores like H&M so there is a good chance that pieces you are eyeing will still be on stock, just on sale!
