Best Breakfast In Cole Valley

  • April 19, 2016

This weekend we woke up to cloudless skies and already warm weather. I knew instantly that I wanted to head to Cole Valley, a cute neighborhood near mine, to take a morning stroll and grab breakfast. We quickly got dressed, I called up a Lyft and we were off!

Zazie is a well-boasted brunch spot on Cole Street, but it doesn’t open until 9am on weekends and the lines start fast. So, instead of waiting an hour in line (we’ll be coming back for you, Zazie!) we opted instead for Cafe Reverie down the street. What looks like your average coffee shop from the front is actually a garden patio paradise in the back. As you know, I LOVE eating outdoors.

Robin and I usually always order the same thing, but not on purpose. We’re both addicted to lox (smoked salmon bagels) and Cafe Reverie makes them, so two double orders of lox and lattes were drawn up. As those were being made, we snuck out back and claimed a table on the top deck overlooking the garden.

Sparrows were fluttering on the fence and everything smelled so green.

I was a happy camper. Once our bagels came out, they lasted for maybe a whole of 5 minutes. Yes, we both eat really quickly as well.

As I mentioned, this past weekend was hot for San Francisco. It felt great to be able to throw on my new Merit dress found at Impressions Boutique and not cover up with another layer (or two!). I love the pattern of this dress almost as much as I love wearing it. It’s so comfy, yet looks very chic with a pair of heels and some bangles. Just what I’m looking for on mornings like this! My shift dress is currently sold out, but the Maxi version can be found here.

We strolled around the area before heading to the cafe. Cole Valley is so calm and peaceful. Because it sit behind a huge hill, it isn’t a through traffic area so it’s a great place to hear birds, find empty sidewalks and that soak in classic San Francisco charm.

That’s one of the things I love about this city – you can find little escapes around every corner.

If you’re looking for a fun escape of your own, use Lyft! If you’re new, use promo code WHIMSYSOUL for $50 in free rides. I partnered up with Lyft to create a really fun story about a Week In The Life of living in San Francisco – stay tuned for that soon!
