Raise your hand if you have been personally victimized by a pair of jeans? *raises both hands*
As a size 14 curvy girl, pants are always a struggle to shop for. It’s impossible to find a pair of pants that hug my curve correctly, but don’t pinch, are comfy enough to wear all day and are fashionable, too.
Well, impossible until I discovered Anthropologie’s Colette Cropped Wide Leg Pants, which come in endless styles, fabrics and colors. After buying a few different pairs and putting them to the test, I’m here to share my honest Colette pants review and tell you why you need these pants in your life.
The Colette Pants Don’t Pinch
For reals, even the jeans! My first entry point to the Colette pants was via a Nuuly rental where I rented a pair of their faux leather pants in Black for an event.Normally I don’t do leather pants, again since they aren’t comfy on my curvy body, but that’s why I love Nuuly: you can rent things and return them, no long commitment.
I pulled out the The Colette Cropped Wide-Leg Faux Leather Pants by Maeve, took a deep breathe and was prepared to have to shimmy into them. Only to have them easily slip over my thighs.
I did the sit test — no pinching. There’s so gap at my waist, either. I did the squat test – the fabric moved with me easily.
If you saw me, you would have seen my jaw hit the floor. I had finally found a pair of leather pants that fit curvy women!!
I immediately headed to the Anthropologie website to buy a pair for myself, and that’s when my jaw hit the floor for a second time.

These Pants Are A Curvy Girl’s Dream Pant
I literally can’t stop raving about the Colette Pant to anyone who will listen. I wear leather pants a lot in the winter, especially around the holidays for parties.
The jeans I pull out in the summer and fall – it’s been probably a decade since I’ve owned a pair of jeans that don’t pinch me to high heaven, and I’ve missed pairing light denim washes with button-ups and tees. My favorite combo right now is with a Sezane tomboy shirt.
The black and brown linen pants are a staple in my wardrobe. I’m an autumn color palette, so those two base colors are easily matched with my top and sweater outfits year-round, even in the spring.
They’ve never pinched me, even after eating a big meal. I’ve worn the pants and jeans all around the world, from Copenhagen to Lisbon to New York City. The buttons and zippers hold up, and the fabric still looks brand new even though I wear them a ton.
Best part? They come in a regular size but also a cropped size for shorter girls like me (I’m 5’5″). If you are looking for the best jeans and pants for curvy and plus size women, the Anthropologie Colette pant collection is it. Pro-tip: they do go on sale sometimes, so keep an eye out for those!
Stretchy faux leather pants that look like the real thing.
Comfy, breathable but not paper thin like normal linen.
Anthropologie Size Chart
I find the sizing to be spot on. I wear a size 32 in the cropped size. The fabric is stretchy so I’ve never felt the need to size up! If you aren’t sure on your size, you can use the Anthropologie size guide for tips, or buy a pair of pants in a couple sizes and just return the ones that don’t fit.
