l hate plain white walls, I always have. I think the walls in a home should be full of color, of artwork, of patterns, and inspiration. We’ve been in our San Francisco apartment for 4.5 years now and as you’ve probably seen on my Instagram, the decoration has been a work in progress (but it’s almost complete thanks to my new Desenio gallery wall and other posters!)
The hardest struggle in decorating my tiny apartment has been the balance of furniture that has both style but function (bonus points for storage if applicable!) We finished off the “heavy” pieces last fall with a new pink locker I thrifted & painted, along with our velvet green couch which I spend way too much time trying to keep safe from our cat’s claws. What has been left to finish is the blank white spaces of wall in our living room area.
For me, art is personal. I collect a lot of artwork while traveling and have gallery walls in our kitchen that nod to my time France, Mexico, Italy, Spain and more. But I haven’t been able to find the perfect pieces of artwork while traveling that fits into our living room space’s color scheme of pink and emerald green. I found one poster print while visiting New York City last year, but after seeing it was upwards of $500, I quickly ran out of the shop.
I’ve been racking my brain, trying to figure out how to decorate these blank spaces with artwork I love, that matches our decor theme and won’t set me back hundreds or thousands. And then I discovered Desenio posters and I’m pretty sure my decorating game has totally changed.
Hear me out. What’s so different about Desenio products is a few things (and trust me, I’ve spent a lot of my life on other artwork and framing sites, they do things differently in the best way!) For starters, I adore basically all of their posters. There’s a large selection of prints and posters, but it’s not just everything under the sun, the pictures are clearly curated. I easily found tons of gallery wall ideas and pictures for living room walls that would seamlessly into the blank spaces.

I clicked under the “new arrivals” for quick inspiration & found this line faces poster print that I immediately knew would be perfect next to our locker. It’s hard picking out the right pictures for bedrooms walls (you’ll be waking up to this every morning!) but I love this Texture Line Faces Poster Print so much. It makes me happy.
Desenio is also different because you can buy a frame along with your print. While checking out, it’s easy to add the perfectly sized frame in your choice of color to the shopping cart. It’s so dang annoying to buy a print and then have to buy a seperate frame, it can be hard to find one that’s the right size (I have a stack of prints in my closet waiting to be hung because I haven’t found the rigth sized frame for them yet.)
Best part, is their frames are really great quality but also affordable. They’re lightweight, making it easy to hang any wall gallery without heavy duty nails and anchors. And they come with these nifty metal fasteners that are so easy to move, saving my nails from breaking (I have broken SO many nails trying to get prints into old school frames in the past.)
So, I found a print for beside our locker and next up was the white area behind our couch. It’s an odd wall corner, as it sticks out in the middle, making it a bit tricky to decorate. I was hunting around the Desenio site for gallery wall inspiration – they have a lot of great poster galley wall examples – and finally settled on these three prints.
Another lined face print ((Abstract Line People No1 Poster)) and two colorful posters ((Abstract Ink No1 Poster) and the (Abstract Garden No6 Poster.) Right now I added a dreamcatcher to round the galley corner out, but will be adding a hanging plant soon.
Pro tip for picking out artwork for your home: go with your gut. Love at first sight totally applies to art.
My gut fell in love with this colorful abstract print and I thought it would go nicely behind our TV. I’ve always thought that space is too empty and used to lean other framed posters there in the past but never found the rigth one… I love how the cold frame matches our mirror.
I couldn’t be happier with Desenio! They made it so dang easy to shop for everything you need with just a few clicks. I love our small picture gallery wall in the corner and adore the two big statement wall pictures. All that’s next to finish off this room are a few more plants! Then, on to the hallway… the decorating never stops!
