Old Navy Gingham Dress, Target shoes, vintage straw purse (similar), headscarf (similar)
I love dresses. Finding a great dress makes me feel absolutely beautiful. I love the femininity of dresses, the range of styles and playfulness you can have. Wearing one is so easy and simple, yet usually always has the appearance of effort. Best part? Dresses are so freaking comfortable! So, when it came time for our New Orleans trip, I packed my suitcase full of dresses! My favorite one of the moment is this breezy maxi number. Gingham in the garden district of New Orleans was the perfect way to kick off dress season (summer!)
I found this little number from Old Navy and wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do. I thought it was going to be a basic, yet cute gingham maxi dress but it has this certain breeziness to it that I absolutely love. It flutters in the wind, or when I walk. It’s simple yet beautiful (and so soft!) so, all my favorite elements to a summer dress.
If you haven’t been to the Garden District in New Orleans, it’s worth the trolly ride over to see the mansions. The intricate detail that is put into these houses is jaw-dropping. While you’re over there, visit the Layfatte Number 1 Cemetery, probably the fanciest cemetery in New Orleans. Kitty corner to it is the Commander’s Palace, a bright blue restaurant that has one of the best dang brunches in the city. And make sure to wear this pretty gingham dress!
