I’ve gone a literal feral after watching Season 3 of Bridgerton, and I’ve especially been eyeing all my tops and feeling like they just aren’t giving enough ta-tas like Penelope Feathering’s outfits give.
This summer I wanna show the girls off. And all week I’ve been seeing the FeelinGirl Shapewear top all of my feed so I just had to know – it’s it actually worth the price, or are these TikTok girls just like, really pretty and wear anything?
I bought the FeelinGirl Tummy Control Body Suits with V Neck and Corset so I can bring you the real tea like Lady Whisltedown herself. Keep reading for my honest FeelinGirl shapewear review!
How To FeelinGirl Bodysuit Looks & Feels In Person
I ordered my Size XL bodysuits off Amazon, since I’m a little too addicted to Prime and was eager to try them out right away with fast and free shipping.
When I opened the packages, I was surprised to really enjoy the material.
The material of both FeelinGirl shapewear bodysuits I ordered felt high quality instead of something plastic like you get sometimes these days with fast fashion. The fabric is like a scuba fabric which I always find soft and comfy to wear.
The stitching was high quality, too – I couldn’t find any loose ends or crooked seams. For a product that’s being hawked left and right on TikTok, I must admit I am impressed by the feeling of the materials. Here’s a breakdown of what they are both made out of:
- Outer layer: 80% polyamide 20% spandex
- Inner layer: 62% nylon and 38% spandex
The bodysuit features double-lined fabric which means it’s not see-through, which is a major flaw other bodysuit/shapewear brands have. It also means there is more compression ability due to the extra layer of fabric.
I tried the viral double-lined FeelinGirl tummy control bodysuit. This is designed with an underwire on the chest, providing excellent breast support without the need for a separate bra. The fabric doesn't compress as much as other styles and is a nice bodysuit option for curvy women.
- Comfy fabric
- Great neckline / bust support
- Up to size 3XL!
- White wasn't my fave in person
- Expensive
Adjustable Straps vs Thick Straps
I tried a bodysuit with both adjustable straps and one without. Since my torso is shorter (I’m only 5’5″ after all) I normally require adjustable straps on my clothing otherwise my tops just fall off my body.
But here, I found the black bodysuit with the adjustable straps to dig into my shoulders more, even when I loosened them up all the way. And, the lift they gave my girls wasn’t enough to justify the pain.
The white bodysuit with standard straps was very comfy, though. And it made the girls look fantastic. I would suggest buying one of each so you can see what works for you the best, but if you are short on cash, go for the non-adjustable straps. It seems a better choice all around.
How FeelinGirl Shapewear Fits My Curvy Body
On the note of the compression, I wanted to make it clear I’m not trying to shrink my curves. I’m very happy with my size 14 body – I’m just after a Penelope-style snatched look, not a snatched tiny waist. I like to breathe, thank you very much.
And that’s my main complaint. The FeelinGirl Tummy Control Body Suits with V Neck is INSANELY hard to breathe in! It’s very difficult to put on or take off, so forget peeing easily in bar bathroom stalls. I don’t know how I would manage this after a couple of drinks.
But it’s so tight, you can’t eat and wear this. I put my V-Neck bodysuit on twice; once before lunch and once after eating. When my stomach expanded after eating a small lunch of sushi, I felt a little light headed this thing squeezes you so much.
The girls on TikTok are not telling you the whole truth – they either don’t eat at all to notice the pinching, or they are choosing not to mention it.
This Viral shapewear bodysuit has too much compression for my curvy body and if I sized up, the cups would have been too large. I felt like this didn't give enough bust lift for the price, or the torture of wearing it.
- Comes in many colors
- Adjustable straps
- Too much compression
- Not enough bust lift for the price
The white Sweetheart bodysuit that has non-adjustable straps, that one doesn’t squeeze very much at all, thankfully. And it has great bust support, too. This neckline also looks the most like a corset neckline that Pen would wear, in my opinion, so I was thrilled when this one fit a lot better on my curvy size 14 body.
It just has a mild compression that didn’t hurt to wear after lunchtime eating. I will note, I don’t really like the white color in person. It doesn’t look as high quality as the black fabric. Just something to note.
Is FeelinGirl Worth It? Final Verdict
FeelinGirl shapewear is a hit or miss. In my opinion, their most popular VNeck bodysuit with adjustable straps is NOT curvy girl friendly.
Again, for context, I’m a size 14 and wear a 36C. I ordered the XL (the largest the bodysuit comes in) and it was a struggle to get into this thing and I couldnt’ imagine happily wearing this all day just for average bust support.
The white bodysuit I tried is curvy girl friendly. This is the one with a Sweetheart neckline and non-adjustable straps. There wasn’t nearly as much compression, the girls looked great in it, and it shipped fast.
Compared to other bodysuits on Amazon or places like Target, FeelinGirl is cheaper than brands like ShaperX, but much more expensive than basic bodysuits that run around $13. You do get higher compression (I would argue too much compression) and a more defined bust line on some of the bodysuits, so in that context I would say they are worth the buy if you are looking for bust that would rival Pen.
But if you are just looking for a basic bodysuit, buy something else.
More Questions About Shapewear
Is Shapewear Comfortable?
No, shapewear compresses you and is basically a modern day corset. They are painful to wear, especially after eating.
Is Shapewear Worth It?
For great ta-tas? Totally. To shrink yourself? No. Never worth the pain just to look slightly slimmer.
Which Shapewear is Best?
I have a whole article on our team’s favorite shapewear brands that are also very affordable! SKIMS is very popular but expensive. Some styles of FeelinGirl is worth the buy, too.
