San Francisco is full of so many cultural gems, and one of my favorites is Off The Grid, an organization that brings food trucks to outdoor spaces around the city. The best one, in my opinion, is the Presidio gathering, which on Sundays takes over a field in the Presidio with a great view of the Bay. But, we haven’t been to the Presidio at Twilight yet, and after our magical evening last night, this one takes the cake.
Every Thursday evening in the summer months, Off The Grid hosts a twilight party on the Presidio lawn complete with firepits, string lights, music and, of course, food. We bundled up in sweaters, grabbed a blanket and a bottle of Wente Wine and headed off to join the fun. They sell beer and wine at the Presidio, but I always prefer to bring my own bottle. Wente seemed fitting since there’s nothing better to sip on while listening to music and watching the sun dip over the Golden Gate Bridge.
We always have such a hard time choosing what to eat at food trucks. Too many options! We settled on sharing jumbo dumplings, BBQ, and donuts. It all pairs well with our Wente Wine we brought along. We brought extra blankets and snuggled up next to the fire, listening to live jazz, playing “Heads Up” and slowly sipping wine. A perfect Thursday night!
