From New Orleans to Las Vegas, there are so many bachelorette party destinations to choose from.
If your bride wants to go somewhere in the south, you’ve probably already thrown around Charleston, Austin, and Nashville as possibilities (all great options!), but if you’re looking for something with Southern Charm, but a little more off the beaten path, a Savannah girls trip may be just what you’re looking for.
With its fun nightlife scene, relaxed open container laws, and proximity to the water, Savannah Georgia is the perfect bachelorette party destination.
Whether you want to soak up the beauty of the old architecture, like the Cathedral Basilica, take Instagram photos in scenic locations, or spend the day at the beach, you will be able to craft the perfect bachelorette itinerary for your group after reading this Savannah bachelorette party guide!
Why Are There So Many Bachelorette Parties In Savannah?
There are many reasons why Savannah getaways are so popular with bachelorette parties. For one, it has an easily walkable historic district filled with cobblestone streets, great restaurants, chic rooftop bars, and tons to do.
Tybee Island is super easy to get to, and it has great weather year round (if you don’t mind the intense heat and humidity from May-September).
Another huge reason? Open container laws. Part of the reason Savannah is so fun is because you can take cocktails to-go throughout the historic district, as long as they are in a clear plastic cup. Who doesn’t want to sip on an alcoholic slushie while walking around the city’s beautiful squares!?
Savannah is like Charleston’s laid back cousin—It still gives the historic Southern charm without the pretentiousness (sorry, Charleston), making it a great spot for a fun girls weekend.
Whether you’re looking to have a casual beach weekend, party your faces off, or have a classy, upscale bachelorette trip, you can do it all in Savannah. PS we have a whole guide with tons of Bachelorette party themes you can copy on your trip.
Where To Stay In Savannah: Beach or Historic District?
When visiting Savannah, there are basically two locations that you should consider staying in—the Historic District (aka Victorian District) and Tybee Island—and it totally depends on what you’re hoping to accomplish with your bach party.
If you want more chill beach vibes, casual seafood dining, and dive bars for your bachelorette weekend, I’d recommend Tybee Island.
If you want to be able to walk to all of the city’s best restaurants and bars and be in the center of the action, the Historic District is definitely the way to go.
Luckily, Tybee Island and downtown Savannah are only about 20-30 minutes apart, depending on traffic, so it is super easy to travel between the two, regardless of what you decide. If you are looking for Savannah weekend getaways, Tybee is your best bet.
Tybee Island
With Tybee Island, it’s mostly vacation rentals and you can get really bougie here, because there are some nice beachfront properties that would make the perfect Savannah bachelorette party house.
There are a few hotels, but none are particularly noteworthy, with the exception of the Royal Palms Motel, which is a budget-friendly motel with fun vintage vibes that just opened in 2020—Think Palm Springs-ish with cute wallpaper and retro appliances. Great spot for Instagram pics!

Savannah Historic District
If you want to be in the center of everything, go out on the town, and be surrounded by Savannah’s signature live oak trees with Spanish moss, the historic district is the place to be. There are a ton of hotels and gorgeous historical Airbnbs to choose from.
As far as rentals go, anything in the historic district will be lovely and super convenient. There are also some decent options in the Starland District, which is on the other side of Forsyth Park, getting further away from River Street. It’s more of an up-and-coming, hipster-y neighborhood, with some really great mix of dive bars and critically-acclaimed restaurants.
Built in 1868, it has three floors with five beautifully decorated bedrooms, stunning balconies, and even a hot tub. I was ready to move in. (I’m a sucker for beautiful old architecture, if you couldn’t tell).
If you have a big group and want to do a rental, I would highly recommend this Airbnb / VRBO. All of the bridesmaids stayed there for my sister’s wedding, and it was perfect. Built in 1868, it has three floors with five beautifully decorated bedrooms, stunning balconies, and even a hot tub. I was ready to move in. (I’m a sucker for beautiful old architecture, if you couldn’t tell).
For hotels, you’re in luck, because Savannah has had a major glow up in the last decade or so, with a lot of nice hotels being built downtown. One of the most impressive is the JW Marriott at Plant Riverside, which is a giant hotel built right on River Street on the Savannah River.
Not only do they have gorgeous suites, but they also have a ton of restaurants, bars, and even a pool right on site, where you can rent daybeds and cabanas and cosplay as a Real Housewife for a weekend. It is expensive though, so plan accordingly.
Other hotels in downtown Savannah that are worth checking out are The Thompson Hotel Savannah, which is home to my favorite bar in the city (we’ll get to that later), Andaz Savannah, and The Alida.
The Best Restaurants In Savannah For Bachelorette Parties
I love to eat and I love to try new restaurants so I apologize in advance if I provide too many options here—But there’s a lot to love about Savannah’s restaurant scene! As a local, I have the advantage of being able to check out alllll the spots, so you can trust my recommendations, I promise.
The Best Brunch Spots In Savannah For Bachelorette Parties
A crucial component of bachelorette parties is having a good brunch reservation—It will either kick off the weekend celebration or be the savior when you’re nursing a hangover. Here are my favorites—
Champagne Brunch At Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden
As someone who has planned several bachelorette parties, it can be so tough to plan meals and sort out how to split the bill. Which is one of the reasons I love Myrtle & Rose’s champagne brunch—They have a simple prix-fixe menu that’s $36 per person + alcohol, so you don’t have to do the math and figure out how much everyone owes, which is a god send.
Aside from the convenience factor, the champagne brunch at Myrtle & Rose is great for the vibes, because it’s on the rooftop of the JW Marriott Plant Riverside District on the Savannah River, so you can soak up the views of the city while enjoying petit-fours, crab cake salad, croque madames, etc., and of course, champagne.
Plus, they take reservations for the champagne brunch, so it’s super convenient for bachelorette party groups and type-A planners.
Common Restaurant
Common Restaurant and Ordinary Pub are two staples in the Savannah brunch scene. I personally like Common more than Ordinary Pub, but Ordinary invented the Togosa, which is a to-go mimosa (also available at Common), so you must givcommonrestaurant.come credit where credit is due.
Common Restaurant is conveniently located on Broughton Street, which is one of the more popular streets, filled with shops and restaurants, and they take reservations.
They have an ever-evolving brunch menu with a Southern flair. I’d try the oysters, crab and avocado toast, or shrimp and grits if I were you—and definitely get a mimosa to go!
Collin’s Quarter
Collin’s Quarter has two locations in Savannah, one at Forsyth Park with a wonderfully large outdoor dining area, and one in the historic district. They have a really unique and delicious brunch menu with dishes like a Bulgogi Benedict, Turkish eggs, crab cake benedicts, and more.
Only downside to Collin’s Quarter is that they don’t take brunch reservations, regardless of your party size, so if you’re a type A planner, this may not be the spot for you.
But if you have a go with the flow group or smaller bach, Collin’s Quarter is definitely worth checking out.
Toast! All Day Savannah
Another great brunch option for bachelorette parties in Savannah is Toast! All Day. In complete transparency, it just opened in Savannah so I haven’t been to this particular location yet, but I’ve been to the one on King Street in Charleston several times, and it’s perfect for bachelorette groups.
They have a solid Southern-inspired brunch menu, which they serve all day, and a ton of creative cocktails so you can start drinking early if that’s your vibe.
Plus, they were voted the best brunch in Charleston plenty of times, so you know it’s gotta be good.
They also let you add yourself to the waitlist virtually so you can save your spot while you rally your group after a night out on the town.
The Best Dinner Spots In Savannah For Bachelorette Parties
There is no shortage of great restaurants for a bachelorette dinner in Savannah, whether you’re looking for classic Southern cuisine, seafood, or modern fusion. Here are a few of my favorites—
Brochu’s Family Tradition
Brochu’s Family Tradition is probably my favorite restaurant in Savannah. The chef Andrew Brochu is a Michelin-starred, James Beard award nominated chef from Chicago who decided to open a laid back restaurant in Savannah (his wife’s hometown) serving up, as they describe it, “fried chicken and fancy seafood.” And it’s dang good.
And you don’t have to just take my word for it—It was recently named one of the 50 best new restaurants by both the New York Times and Bon Appetit, so you can trust that it’s worth a visit.
There are so many good things on their menu, but if you’re an oyster person, you’ll definitely want to get a platter of oysters. I dream about their raw oysters with the yuzu peppercorn sauce regularly. Their dirty rice too… omg.
Anyway, it’s definitely worth a visit, and it’s located in the Starland District, which has some really fun dive bars right around the corner (we’ll go into that later), so you can have a nice dinner and then turn up a bit afterwards.
Saint Bibiana
If you’re looking for a beautiful backdrop for your Instagram stories, Saint Bibiana is the place to go. This new upscale dinner spot just opened in Savannah’s renowned Mansion on Forsyth (soon to be Hotel Bardo), serving up coastal Italian faire.
They are all about the vibes—like this is a restaurant for the girlies.
It is a higher price point though, so definitely not the spot if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, but you can dress up, order some really nice wine, and act as if you vacation in Portofino every summer.
Olde Pink House
The Olde Pink House is arguably the most recommended restaurant in Savannah.
The building itself was built in 1771, and rumor has it that it was built from red bricks that were covered in white plaster, yet somehow the red still made its way through, making it a pink color, which supposedly irritated the original owner.
The building survived the Savannah Fire in 1796, became the home of Georgia’s first bank in 1811, served as headquarters for the Union Army during the Civil War, and eventually turned into the upscale Southern restaurant that it is today.
A dinner at the Olde Pink House is almost like a trip to a museum, as they try to share the history of the building and the city itself through the food on their menu.
It’s a classic for a reason, so if you want to feel like you’ve had the quintessential Savannah experience, a dinner at the Olde Pink House is a must.
The Vault
The Vault is another one of my favorite restaurants in the city (although pretty much every restaurant by Rhino Hospitality Group is on my list of favorites).
Located in an old bank in the Starland District, The Vault menu features fun cocktails, good vibes, and asian fusion cuisine.
They have sushi, they have curries, they have steak, they have dumplings… Literally everything is so good. I highly recommend the chicken lettuce wraps, the chicken claypot, and the crying tiger steak, and my sister swears by the BBQ tofu steamed buns, but truly anything you order will be a hit.
If you have a larger group, I’d recommend reaching out in advance to see if you can dine in their vault room, which is a private room that used to be the bank’s, you guessed it, vault. We actually got to dine in the vault for my friend’s birthday one year, and it’s a perfect way to have a cozy dinner with a large group.
I would also recommend another Rhino Hospitality Group spot called Madame Butterfly, which is Korean BBQ!
The Crab Shack
If you’re trying to have a classy bachelorette party, The Crab Shack is not for you. Located on Tybee Island, The Crab Shack is just a down-and-dirty seafood spot serving up casual dishes like low country boil, Brunswick stew, crab legs, and peel-and-eat shrimp.
In addition to being famous for its seafood, it is also famous for its alligators. Yes, you read that right. They have a pond with baby alligators that you can feed while you wait for a table. It’s a little redneck, but sometimes you just have to lean in!
For those of you staying on Tybee, The Crab Shack is definitely worth a visit, especially because it’s right on the water.
If you’re looking for other Tybee Island seafood spots, we always go to Stingrays, but AJ’s on the other side of the island is a good option too!
Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market
Another great bachelorette dinner Savannah spot is Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market which is located in the Perry Lane Hotel (which is also home to rooftop bar Peregrin) specializing in French-inspired cuisine.
Some of their popular dishes include French onion soup, baked brie, tuna crudo, and of course, my favorite, steak with a peppercorn sauce.
You can make reservations in advance online for parties up to 6 people, and for larger parties you can call in for a reservation.
The Best Places To Grab A Drink In Savannah For Bachelorette Parties
No matter your vibe, Savannah has a bar for you. Elegant cocktail bar with beautiful views of the river? Check. Dive bar with cheap beer and live music? Check. Karaoke bar? Check. Bars where you can find men attending a bachelor party for all the single ladies? Check.
For our purposes, I’m going to classify the bars into two main categories—Classy pregame spots for nice cocktails (or tame bachelorette parties) and laid back bars where you can get a little rowdy.
The Best Cocktail Bars In Savannah For Bachelorette Parties
Okay, so these are the kind of bars where you go to kick off your evenings. The ones serving up dirty martinis in beautiful glassware. The ones that you would want to post on Instagram. You know the vibe.
These bars all have a curated cocktail list, great wine selection, and really fit the aesthetic that you’re looking for for your bachelorette party.
Bar Julian
Bar Julian is hands down my favorite rooftop bar in Savannah. It’s where I take people who are visiting to impress them.
Located on the very top of the Thompson Hotel, Bar Julian is the tallest rooftop in the city and has absolutely spectacular views of the Savannah River and downtown.
I would recommend going here for sunset, as the views at that time are truly unmatched, and there’s nothing better than enjoying an Aperol Spritz with your girls while soaking up the beautiful views.
With an ever-changing cocktail menu, you will always be able to find a drink you love—I really like the Picante Bebida, which is their interpretation of a spicy marg. They also have a really great mocktail menu too!
For the views alone, Bar Julian is a must-see on your Savannah, Georgia bachelorette itinerary.
Peacock Lounge
In full disclosure, Peacock Lounge is kind of small and almost always has a line, but this dark basement bar, decorated with funky wallpaper and clever neon signs, is worth the wait. It has the best vibes and even better cocktails, so much so that I’ve waited in the rain more than once to get in.
Peacock Lounge is another Rhino Hospitality Group spot located under Flock To The Wok (I promise this isn’t sponsored by them, I just genuinely love so many of their establishments).
You’ll find the entrance in the alley (technically Congress Lane) illuminated by a blue neon sign.
Grab the girls and have at least one fancy cocktail at Peacock Lounge before you start getting rowdy!
Arco
Conveniently located in an old Victorian building on Bay Street, with its back windows overlooking the Savannah River, Arco is the perfect little cocktail bar for grabbing drinks and appetizers before dinner or a night out.
This is another Rhino Hospitality Group establishment, so you know it’s going to be good! You can also get dinner here, but for larger groups, I would stick to cocktails (and probably an order or two of the burrata… because who doesn’t love burrata).
Water Witch
If your group is sticking around Starland, Water Witch is the perfect spot to kick off your evening with fun, tropical cocktails. This cozy tiki bar is on Bull Street right next to all of Starland’s top restaurants, like Brochu’s, The Vault, Ukiyo, and more, making it a great place for the festivities to begin.
Pendant Terrace & Bar (Drayton Hotel Rooftop)
Another great rooftop bar in Savannah is atop the Drayton Hotel. Every time I’ve been there, it hasn’t been crowded, the drinks are delicious, and the sunset views of City Hall’s gold facade are fantastic.
The Drayton Hotel also has a cozy little speakeasy-like bar in its basement that serves up whiskey (and other liquors) while playing vinyls. Highly recommend, especially if you’re waiting for a spot on the roof or at their seafood restaurant, St. Neo’s.
Best Bars For Savannah Bachelorette Parties
Once you’ve had your classy pregame cocktails and a nice dinner, you can easily call it a night so you’re well rested for your next day in the city. Or, if your bachelorette party wants to get a little tipsy, play some party games, and maybe not keep it so classy, it’s time to hit the town.
There are more casual bars throughout the city, but there are quite a few clustered on Bay Street/River Street, City Market, and Starland.
Here are a few of my recommendations for laid back bars with good vibes and affordable drinks that will make a great place to end your night.
- Savannah Smiles Dueling Piano Bar: Classic dueling piano bar right above River Street that gets a little rowdy. Definitely a hit with visitors!
- Saddle Bags: If you want to lean into the fact that you are in the south, and get a little bit country, Saddle Bags is a great option. They have country music, line dancing, and a mechanical bull. Need I say more?
- Electric Moon: This bar is located on the rooftop of the giant JW Marriott Plant Riverside complex. It’s definitely less grungy than most of the spots on this list, but it’s usually a party, thanks to their kitschy cocktails that come in a lightbulb for a glass.
- Bay Street Blues: A classic karaoke spot on Bay Street. Plus, they have Jello shots!
- PS Tavern: Two words: Pickle Shots. You have to get one, whether you like it or not!
- Barrelhouse South: This City Market staple is great for live music (and meeting men).
- The Grove: Another City Market spot, The Grove has a nice rooftop and is a mid-tier place. Not too grimy but not too bougie either!
- The Rail Pub: Another great option for karaoke, located right next to Congress Street Social and some other City Market adjacent spots.
- Whitakers: We love going to Whitakers because they have reasonably priced drinks, but they have a ton of bar games, so it’s easy to make new friends.
- Moodrights: This is for our Starland girlies. Moodrights has cheap beer, a good crowd, and duckpin bowling, if you’re looking for activities! They are also one in the same with Over Yonder, which frequently has live music.
Things To Do In Savannah With Your Bachelorette Party
There are truly so many things you can do to fill your Savannah bachelorette party itinerary! From spending some time on the water to exploring the city’s history, shops, and food & beverage scene, this city was made for girls’ trips.
There are so many things you can do beyond this list, but here are a few Savannah bachelorette party ideas that I would personally love to do during a girls trip to Savannah.
1. Take A Ghost Tour
Did you know that Savannah is the most haunted city in the United States? If your group is big on paranormal activity, you cannot visit Savannah without participating in a ghost tour.
There are so many different companies that offer ghost tours in Savannah. You can do a walking ghost tour, you can be driven around in a hearse, and you can even do a ghost tour bar crawl and stop for drinks in between haunted spots.
2. Explore The City Via Slow Ride
For some reason in Savannah, everyone calls these slow rides, but they are better known to most of the world as pedal pubs! Unlike other cities that have been taken over by bachelorette parties on pedal pubs (cough cough, Nashville), Savannah doesn’t have too many circulating at any given time, so locals are cool with them.
Savannah Slow Ride offers a classic pedal pub where you stop at different bars around the historic district (almost like a bachelorette scavenger hunt, but for drinking), which is what I’ve done previously, but they also offer a ghost tour version and a history tour version, so you can really cross off two things at once.
Your pedal pub leaders will take you to different participating bars, but I’d highly recommend getting a pickle shot at PS Tavern and getting a to-go slushie from Wet Willie’s on River Street!
3. Beach Day On Tybee Island
If your bachelorette party in Savannah, GA is taking place any time between April and October (especially if it’s in August when you will NEED to be on the water), you should definitely include a visit to Tybee Island in your itinerary, because who doesn’t love a good beach day!?
The best part about a beach day is that you can make it really affordable—if you bring food and drinks (no glass, please), you really only have to pay for parking or ubers, which can be great if you’re looking for Savannah bachelorette party ideas on a budget. I personally recommend stopping by a Publix on your way to Tybee to pick up a Pub Sub, as they are the perfect beach meal.
If you do want to spend some money dining out or getting drinks, there are plenty of cute spots on the island that would be perfect—Hucapoo’s, Spanky’s, and Stingray’s are classics, and the newly opened Zunzibar has a lovely patio and fun cocktails.
Fun fact: They filmed The Last Song on Tybee Island.
I would recommend North Beach if you want to have easily accessible bathrooms or head a little further down towards 13th and 14th Streets if you want to be near the bars and restaurants.
4. Get On The Water With A Savannah Bachelorette Party Boat
If you want to do a beach day, but take it up a notch, a boat party is the way to go! Savannah Party Cat is a charter boat company that specializes in bachelorette boat days, so they will make it easy for whoever is planning your bach weekend festivities. All you have to do is show up with a good playlist and some beverages!
You can book a 2 or 3 hour cruise, departing from Wilmington Island (which is right between downtown Savannah and Tybee Island) which will give you a nice tour of Savannah’s waterways. On the 3 hour cruise, they have time built in for swimming as well!
5. Attend A Drag Show At Club One
Savannah doesn’t have many gay bars… in fact it pretty much has only one—Club One. But that’s OK, because Club One excels at that job.
Club One offers drag shows every Thursday through Sunday, several times a night, and it’s a great way to kick off your evening, before dancing the night away at their dance club. They offer reservations on Friday and Saturday nights, so you can lock in tickets for your whole group in advance.
6. Day Drink at Starland Yard
Savannah’s pleasant weather makes it a great spot for a bit of day drinking in the sun, and there’s no better place to do that than Starland Yard.
Starland Yard is an outdoor space that hosts a variety of food trucks on a daily basis, in addition to their built-in bar and pizza place. It’s a great spot for grabbing some food and drinks on a (relative) budget and playing some yard games with the girls!
Starland Yard is also near a handful of other bars and breweries in the neighborhood, like Two Tides Brewing, so you can pop on over to other places, should you feel so inclined.
7. Do A Little Shopping
Savannah has a ton of great areas for shopping. On Broughton Street, you can find everything from major chains like H&M to small thrift shops like Glory Days Vintage (highly recommend!).
The Paris Market is also a must visit! A French inspired “design concept experience” that has everything fromhand-crafted jewelry and accessories to custom-made lighting, French-milled soaps and hard-to-come-by kitchen tools.
After Broughton Street, you can either head to River Street, where there are an array of cute shops and pop-ups by Plant Riverside, or head more towards Bull Street & Liberty Street, which have some of my favorite boutiques.
One of my personal favorites is Red Clover, which is an in-person and online boutique specializing in reasonably priced women’s clothing, right by Chippewa Square. (PS: They offer free shipping over $50 if you want to do a little shopping from your couch…)
If your group wants to do some shopping but wants a local to take the lead, I’d recommend checking out a Sip & Shop Tour, which is perfect for bachelorette parties!
One of their knowledgeable city guides will bring you to various boutiques in the historic district (where you’ll get a discount) while you sip on free wine. It’s also a great way to pick up gifts for the bride (lingerie shower anyone??).
8. Attend A Savannah Bananas Game (If You’re Lucky)
Now, I’ll be totally upfront here, it is practically impossible to get tickets to a Savannah Bananas game, but if you somehow get lucky—or know someone—and can get tickets to a game, you should definitely go.
Now you may be thinking “how is a baseball game the perfect girls trip activity?” Well, regardless if you like sports, the Savannah Bananas and Party Animals put on one hell of a show!
And who doesn’t want to see attractive shirtless men playing baseball and recording TikToks!?
So there you have it! I hope this Savannah Bachelorette guide left you inspired for a trip filled with history, sunshine, and of course, some drinks to celebrate your bride!

Drawstring closures can be easy to access, but they might not be as secure as zippers for travel.
