SumoMaya is one of the best brunch spots I’ve been to in recent years. Located in North Scottsdale, SumoMaya fuses Mexican and Asian cuisine together, giving you a variety of options. 

If the food wasn’t enough, the Japanese and Mexican-fused decor will be sure to catch your eye. SumoMaya currently offers an unlimited brunch experience for $39 where you can share plates such as the pancake “street” tacos or oatmeal brulée with your friends. 

It also includes a main entree for yourself and not to mention bottomless mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice, bloody marys and micheladas. Or draft beers with 1 cent refills that you can add for only an extra $20. What’s not to love!?

The extensive drink menu of course features sake plus Mexican and Asian inspired cocktails. With a rotating seasonal menu, you’re sure to find something new every time you visit. I tried and loved the edamame hummus, enchiladas, pink sushi, and the Chinese pineapple rice. 

Located close to the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, Diego Pops is known for their creative twist on tacos and tequila. It’s the perfect spot to grab a fresh and delicious bite and sip on some boozy cocktails (or both)! 

Most known for their happy hour menu options (psst..which is everyday from 3-6pm) and beaming, fun neon lights, they offer budget friendly options for burritos, tacos, and breakfast protein bowls. If you’re not craving a full meal, you can always try the ceviche or just pop in with your friends to order a margarita pitcher!

Whether you’re getting brunch with the gals or hitting happy hour, you can’t go wrong with the brussel sprout nachos or a spicy marg. If you want something that screams Arizona, the iconic Sonoran dog is your best friend. Trust me, it’s all you’ll ever want in a hot dog.

With a bright color palette of whites and blues, this place gives you coastal and beachy vibes all within the desert. 

The menu extends from the classic biscuits and gravy to their Prep & Pastry signatures such as the cast iron duck confit. If you’re feeling a classic omelet, a modern take on toast, or even lunch, this place has got it all. And of course, you can’t have brunch without a beverage. 

You can choose from your classic mimosa or try with their combination juices like the spruce juice (orange, cranberry, and rosemary) or the butterfly (lavender, butterfly pea, and lemon). 

Can’t decide? Order the “bartender’s call,” which is a rotating specialty cocktail. Spirit-free options and, of course, your classic coffees and teas are available as well. 

Located near the airport in Northern Scottsdale, Perk Eatery has the best breakfast in Scottsdale with that classic mom and pop diner feel. The kind where you know you’ll find a dish that’ll not only be savory, but filling as well.

With a mid century modern decor and vibe, it’ll for sure rewind you back to the 50-70s. Even if you are not a guest, you can still grab a bite to eat or inquire about a day pass and lounge at the pool. ZuZu, named after the matriarch of the family who owns the hotel, is the restaurant located near the lobby and offers the best Sunday brunch in Scottsdale with live music on the weekends. 

If you’d like, you can also make dinner reservations. They are vegan and vegetarian friendly and offer signature brunch options like the breakfast fried rice and Hawaiian ahi tuna poke bowl.

If I were you, I’d book your private event or reservation as soon as possible. It tends to get busy during the summer months in Scottsdale (even with 100 degree weather). If you plan to go in the summer and want to cool off or tan, the Sonora Swim Club at CALA is perfect for poolside bites and drinks too.

Sometimes, every once in a while, you like to go to your familiar places and for me, Culinary Dropout is one of them. Located across from Fashion Square Mall and down the road from Old Town Scottsdale, this brunch spot offers a variety of beers, wines, cocktails and tons of shareables. 

They’re most known for their pretzel and fondue bites, as well as their servers, whose uniforms are not one in the same. The antipasti options are awesome because you and your group can basically build your own charcuterie board.It’s perfect if you don’t want to fill up too much during breakfast or brunch. 

Want to enjoy a quick competitive game? They also have an outdoor patio with tons of games like giant connect four, ping pong, and corn hole that you can play! 

On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer live music and events such as yoga at the yard, or they’re even perfect if you or your partner want to catch a game. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing drinks and playing games, there’s truly something for everyone.

I know that Scottsdale is this amazing place for foodies, like myself, and is honestly a hub for partying and relaxing, but there are still tons of great restaurants to try! 

Located in Phoenix (don’t worry, this place isn’t too far from Scottsdale and perfect stop before flying out of PHX), The Henry has one of the best brunches in Phoenix, Arizona. With an elevated take on traditional American cuisine, The Henry offers vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free menu items. 

With wicker chairs and striped umbrellas on the outdoor patio, The Henry gives you another coastal atmosphere where you can enjoy one of their signature spritzes or grab something from their bloody mary and mimosa cart. 

The inside decor has leather booths, and darker colors to contrast the bright outside, giving you classic Gatsby feel with industrial elements. Be sure to grab their spicy tuna & crispy rice dish or the parmesan truffle fries as an app.
