These July 2023 self-care horoscopes for each of the 12 zodiac signs are based on the upcoming astrological transits, (the movement of the planets around the sky), and some of the general themes that are going to be activated for you in the coming month.
As a witch, I’ll be sharing some predictions, insight, and inspiration on how you can most effectively nurture yourself and practice self-care this month based on the cosmos.

July 2023 Astrological Transits
- Mars enters Virgo (July 10): Mars is the planet of action and passion and in July, it will move forward into Virgo, the sign of details, spreadsheets, and… rituals? Yep! Virgo rules over everything in our daily lives from work and routines to the ways we connect with the spiritual realm. This is a great time to clean up your habits in mundane and witchy ways.
- North Node enters Aries (July 17): In mid-July, the north node will move from Taurus backwards into Aries, (this point in astrology is almost always retrograde!) The north node represents our collective karma and purpose and changes signs every year and a half. With the move into Aries, we’re looking at releasing relationships that don’t serve us and embracing our fiercest, most passionate desires.
- Venus retrograde in Leo (July 22 – September 3): One of the other most important transits of the summer, Venus retrograde begins in late July and runs through early September (although she remains in Leo for about 5 weeks after that as well.) This retrograde asks us to reflect on our relationships and reevaluate the connections that make us feel shy, ashamed, or unworthy of showing up authentically.
