Justina and I just came back from a magical whirlwind trip to Yosemite National Park. We’ve been both trying (and failing) to catch peak fall foliage in the valley for years, but FINALLY lucked out on perfect conditions this year.
While sharing all my behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram, I had a follower compliment me on my blue puffer jacket and ask me if the contrasting color choice to yellows and orange was intentional. Absolutely it was! I was shopping Old Navy a few weeks ago since Robin needed more shirts (and yes, I get great joy from picking out his shirts) and then I noticed this stunning blue puffer jacket was on sale.
I don’t think I ever hit “add to cart” faster!!
I knew I was heading to Yosemite to catch fall colors and thought the blue color would be the perfect contrasting color choice to wear around all the yellow and orange leaves. Usually, I opt for red jackets but I wanted to switch things up and try something new. I just haven’t seen a puffer jacket with this particular shade of blue before and it’s so dang pretty you guys!
As a body-positive blogger, I always try and find pieces that come in many sizes for ya and was also really happy to see this jacket comes in sizes XS-4XL! Oh, and it HAS POCKETS!!
If you watched my Stories, you know that I waded in the freezing Merced River barefoot to get a photo. I got my black leggings soaked after that so I had to switch to jeans at some point. The jacket looks great with both leggings or jeans! I wore a yellow sweater under the jacket to add a bit of contrasting color to my outfit, too, and topped it off with a tan hat. My favorite camera bag for hiking is this one by Brevite since it has a handy pocket for my camera.
Sadly, here in San Francisco, I don’t really have a weather situation where I need a thick puffer jacket like this one but I’ll be holding onto it for future winter trips into the mountains. If I still lived in Wisconsin this would absolutely be my 2021 winter coat of the year, that’s for sure.
