The Perfect Leather Jacket

Every girl needs a good leather jacket. I grew out of my old one over a year ago and have been dragging my feet on picking up a new one. I’m just so picky! I want a faux leather jacket to look and feel like real leather, but still be comfy and movable. As a curvy gal, I want it to hit me at the right spot and be able to zip over my boobs (TMI?) Well, I’ve finally found the perfect leather jacket.

I picked this Calvin Klein baby up at Macy’s after the fashion show with Plus Size Super Model Emme – she gave such great fashion tips! She was really inspiring to get tips from. I think my favorite was her tip on tying a belt around capes – you can loop it on top of the cape in front, but loop it under the cap in the back so it doesn’t hug you tight aka is more flattering! I kept notes like that in mind when hunting for a leather jacket and found one that really flatters curves. It hits me at my hip (instead of a bit higher up) and is a little bit longer in the front. Sort of like a bob, but on a jacket. This shape and movement is great at highlighting my curves in a good way.

Another Emme tip was to not be afraid to wear loud shoes. Not like I have that problem, but I think it’s really good to keep in mind. So many women, especially us curvy and plus size gals, are afraid of wearing anything but black. Fun shoes are fun!!!I love my leopard heels – they add nice pops of FUN to any outfit, plus look killer with a leather jacket.
