As a Wisconsin born gal, there is nothing I love more than cheese. Even goat cheese. Especially goat cheese. And especially if I can shop for goat cheese after petting baby goats.
I live in San Francisco now and one of my favorite hidden gems on the Highway 1 coast is Harley Farms in Pescadero, a small family run goat farm with baby goats, a sassy miniature horse, pigs and other farm animals.
They also have their Goat Shop where you can shop freshly made goat cheeses with flowers pressed in them, or rolled in dill or lavender, along with fresh jams, cookies, soaps and olive oil.
Whenever I find myself driving down to Half Moon Bay or Davenport, I always make a point to swing by Harley Farms to pick up some goat cheese and pet the kids.
I’ve tried many of their cheeses but their dill goat log is by far my favorite. It’s amazing on toast, especially with lox. But I also adore their round goat wheels with colorful flowers pressed into them, these are fun to grab if I’m hosting a wine night with the girls since they look so pretty on a charcuterie board!
I haven’t gone to one yet, but Harley Farms also has special summer night dinners in their barn loft, but you have to be signed up to their email newsletter to hear about them. They also host tours for $55 a person where you can go behind the scenes to meet all the farm animals!
If you find yourself on Highway 1 near Pescadero, you can’t miss this adorable farm or their dang tasty cheeses.
