Stockholm is one of those cities where a great hotel really matters. Hey, it’s Scandinavia after all! They’re kind of like the kings of interior design. When picking out a hotel to make our home base for our weekend in Stockholm, I looked for a great location with great decor and found Hobo Hotel.
A Peek Inside Hobo Hotel: A Scandi Boutique Design Hotel In Stockholm
As a professional travel blogger, I’ve been in countless hotels all around the world. When I say Hobo Hotel is one of the best central city hotels I’ve been to, trust me. I loved the front desk staff, who were so dang kind and happy (and spoke perfect English which was needed for us tourists).
I loved the colorful decor and plants dripping around in the lobby, plus the free water refill, a rarity in Europe. And our room was much larger than I expected for European hotels. We had plenty of space to put our bags and still walk around. And, they came with fun details like USB outlets and a toy water gun in the bathroom just for fun. Oh, and they have Chromecast so we happily streamed Bobs Burgers each night.
Free Breakfast Daily
One of the major perks of staying at Hobo Hotel beyond their cool decor and thoughtful amenities are their epic free breakfast at their top-level restaurant. Many European hotels offer a free breakfast that’s not at all like the sad waffle machines you find in the United States, but this one is especially good.
They have Asian, Scandianda, and American cuisines on top of breads, cheeses, fresh fruits, coffee, fresh squeezed juices and even tumeric ginger shots so you can find anything you want just steps from your hotel room. It was perfect for fueling up before walking like, 10 miles a day exploring the city.
Hobo Stockholm Has A Great Location
Speaking of walking, Hobo Hotel is a quick jaunt to Stockholm Central Station (Aka T- Centralen), but also near the Royal Swedish Opera and Gamla Stan. It’s not right on a bus or metro line, so you will have to walk ~5 minutes to connect to public transportation but overall, I think this is a great hotel location.
In general, many of the things you’ll be visiting in Stockholm Sweden are around Gamla Stan, so finding a hotel near there the island, or on Gamla Stan proper is key for easily popping all over the city.

If music may be an issue for you going to bed early, ask for lower level rooms. But that was our only complaint as guests. Otherwise, we loved this spot and would book it again on a future trip to Stockholm in a heartbeat. It was like luxury on a budget, as our room (with breakfast!) was about $150 per night.
