Mainstream self-confidence quotes are anything but helpful.
Most inspirational quotes found online are from people who don’t have the best morals in life. I genuinely hope I’m not the only one to think about this but; why do I need motivational quotes from men like Mark Twain, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Johann Wolfgang? Even if we aren’t bombarded with quotes from people who were alive in the 18th century (and honestly aren’t relevant to the modern-day woman), we’re left with famous quotes that are fake.
Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher and writer, is often quoted saying things like; “because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others” or “when you accept yourself, the whole world accepts you also.” While they do sound like very inspirational life quotes that the world needs, it’s not something he ever said.
It’s extremely easy to quote things such as; “inaction breeds doubt and fear. action breeds confidence and courage.” However, many of these quotes ignore mental health issues even if they are from proclaimed self-help or self-improvement people like Dale Carnegie and Wayne Dyer. It’s not easy to just “get out and get busy.”
In an effort to challenge these mindlessly put-together lists, I have compiled 25 song lyrics and quotes that I hope add some type of actual value to your life. Some are self worth quotes, others are mantras that you can repeat to allow yourself to feel loved and confident.
