November 2022 Astrological Transits
- Mars Retrograde in Gemini (October 30 – January 12): Mars is the planet of action and passion. It typically spends about two months in each zodiac sign, but we are currently in a lengthy retrograde that will have Mars traversing Gemini all the way until March of next year! Mars retrogrades only happen once every two years and are basically the universe’s way of pressing pause, so that we can integrate lessons learned before moving back into action in a more thoughtful and aligned way.
- Lunar Eclipse in Taurus (November 8): Twice a year, we have lunar eclipses, when the earth’s shadow falls across the face of the full moon, causing it to darken and appear a reddish hue. This year’s eclipses are in Taurus and Scorpio, which are opposite signs in the zodiac. We’ve just had a new moon solar eclipse in Scorpio in late October and now we have the last eclipse of 2022 in November – a lunar eclipse in the sensual, earthy sign of Taurus. This is the end of eclipse season for another six months.
- Stellium in Sagittarius (Begins November 16): The second half of November is characterized by a stellium, (or grouping of planets), in Sagittarius. Venus enters Sagittarius on November 16 and Mercury enters Sagittarius the next day. They are followed by the sun entering Sagittarius on November 22 and finally the new moon in Sagittarius on November 23. This marks the end of Scorpio season and beginning of Sagittarius season. Sagittarius is the sign of the Healer, an energy and archetype of spiritual growth, expansion, and abundance – it’s no coincidence that we spend Sagittarius season each year giving thanks and exchanging gifts!
