I was recently in mountains catching fall colors. I remember walking outside our hotel in Lake Tahoe, taking a deep breath of the air and smelling just pure pine — like I just walked into some small town’s Christmas ornament store. A week later I was in Yosemite curling up in my flannel PJs on the deck of our cabin playing scrabble and I swear the air smelled just like the candle I brought (spice, sandalwood and cashmere).

I found this candle brand while up in Tahoe. The lobby of the Coachman Hotel has a little shop and there was just one candle left – the Flannel Season scent. As a candle addict, I never ran so fast to check out and take it home! I immediately burned it and let me tell you, I haven’t found a candle with this strong of throw in a LONG time. I can be in our kitchen and smell it in our living room!
The next day I went online and bought another Flannel Season candle and also a California Pine scent. Come December, I love the smell of pine around my (fake) Christmas tree. It really helps to set the mood for me. But it’s so nice to be able to bounce around from a pine scent and the flannel season scent!
