Growing up in Wisconsin and then later living in Minneapolis meant that I quickly learned the value of a good winter coat. To battle against the freezing temperatures, snow and cold wind, I always needed a puffy jacket with pockets, a zipper AND buttons and a hood. You sacrifice style for survival (not to sound dramatic!), which is why I get extra excited about San Francisco winters.
Compared to Midwest winters, this season in San Francisco is much more mild, meaning I get to wear coats that are both warm AND stylish. Long gone are the days of marshmallow parkas and here are the days of well-designed overcoats. This floral coat by Simply Be is my new favorite piece in my closet because it’s the kind of coat I’ve always wanted to be able to wear but never actual could until now.
I love coats that are dark in color because they go with almost everything. This the floral pattern on one is special because it adds a pop of color (which you know I love!) while still somehow staying in the “dark” category. The flowers picks up on colors you are wearing in your outfit to look cohesive and pulled together. You can find this coat HERE at Simply Be. And the best news is that it’s on sale!
I paired this beautiful Simply Be coat with a simple black A-line dress from Target and nude heels... also from Target. Hey, I like Target. (Both are older, so similar ones are linked below.) This is an outfit that I would NOT have been able to wear in November in Minneapolis or Madison, so I really relished in the moment. I’m going to like this new era of stylish winter coats!
Fun fact: this pink house is Robin William’s old house. How cool is that? I bet it has a great view of the Golden Gate Bride from the living room… HOUSE GOALS.
