Fall has arrived! As the leaves begin to turn and we start brainstorming Halloween costume ideas, it’s time to spruce up our rooms to match the fall aesthetic.
I’ve been on the search for fall bedroom ideas, and found the perfect accent pieces to make your bedroom decor scream cozy, magical ambiance for the autumn season!
Having a cozy bedroom while the weather gets colder is essential to my survival (…to some extent), but you don’t need to blow your whole wallet on a total bedroom makeover just for the sake of a season.
15+ Simple Fall Bedroom Decor Ideas For A Cozy Space
Sometimes all it takes is a little furniture rearranging to get the inspiration flowing. That’s why I’ve chosen simple, darling (and some spooky) items to add to your room without them taking over your space entirely.
There’s always more than one way to style for fall, so went with a couple classic aesthetics/vibes: light & airy and dark academia. Whether you’re a pumpkin patch girlie or a queen of the underworld, this list will have something you’ll love.
That said, if there’s a different fall vibe you’re going for, let us know in the comments and we can add to the list. Now let’s get into some autumn bedroom ideas!
Rust 100% French Flax Linen Bedding Set
We’ll start with the comfiest place in your room, the bed. I found this fluffy, delicious comforter in the color “rust” to subtly let everyone know you’re ready for everything fall has to offer. It’s the ultimate piece for your fall bedroom aesthetic.
Alura Homescent Collection - Warm Musk
You must think of everything when decorating a bedroom for fall, including smell. This warm musk candle is the perfect thing to warm up your space. Scented candles go hard any season of the year, but they especially hit during fall.
Artificial/Faux Taupe Pampas Grass Decor
This grass bunch is nothing but airy and delightful. Their soft, neutral look keeps your room feeling open and lush. As we move into winter, it’s harder to keep plants happy, so these are a great substitute for plant-loving people!
6' Faux Rusted Eucalyptus Fall Garland
Garlands are the ultimate items for cozy fall bedroom ideas. They’re great for decorating all around your house. You can stick them around your bed frame, in the laundry room, on the dining room table in a large vase, or use them for a fall Instagram photoshoot!
Rust Dynasty Traditional Area Rug
If you’re wondering why you’re room feels like it’s missing something, it’s likely a rug. For the final cozy touch to your fall bedroom decor: this beautiful rug from RUGS US with a rustic design to keep your room snug.
The brown and orange in this rug are neutral enough that you can leave this bad boy down all year long. Place it so it frames your bed or pair with a reclaimed wood coffee table in your living room, and everyone will love how warm and welcoming your house is!
Chunky Knit Throw
When I think of fall, the image of me curled up on the couch with cider and a blanket plays through my head constantly.
Fall blankets come in all shapes and sizes, but I recommend getting a nice chunky one like this throw to feel ultimate coziness. This blanket is also superb because it transitions to winter seamlessly!
Full Moon Clay Vase
This clay vase brings a bright addition to the house! Pair it with the faux pampas grass in black or beige to elevate your space. You can also decorate it with string lights and have a chic nightlight!
Plaid Square Throw Pillow
Incoming! Fall pillows! This plaid throw pillow pairs perfectly with the rust bedding for ultimate cuteness. Or it’s also a great addition to your living room to make your homes feel more inviting as the weather gets colder. You want plush pillows for fall so you can relax in comfort.
Textured Throw Pillow
One of the best tips I've heard when it comes to home design is mixing and matching color and texture. This textured, white pillow paired with the pillow and the rust bedding, does just that!
It’s great for minimalist bedroom design ideas, but you can always add some maximalism with a fun pumpkin pillow!
Padma Area Rug
This moody area rug that ties in everything about the dark academia aesthetic, giving an upscale, old-age feel to any room without taking over the entire space.
Velvet Louise Curtain
I LOVE these dark green curtains for a fall inspired room. They can turn your entire living space into a lux, witches' dream or your bedroom into a sultry, fall vibe.
There is no going wrong with these curtains, and you're one step closer to an adult Halloween bedroom.
In my opinion, all autumn bedrooms should have a balance between witchy and warm. These tarot cards for beginners are fashionable AND functional.
Perfect for dipping your toe into the witch trend, setting on your nightstand for decorating your master bedroom, or putting them up as wall art.
Olive 100% French Flax Linen Bedding Set
Dark green anything is one of those touches all dark academia rooms need. This olive linen set is ideal for falling asleep or watching a spooky movie. Plus, you can pair it with a lighter or darker comforter set depending on the season and it will work all year round!
Moon Phases Mirror Set
When thinking of fall bedroom decorating ideas, it’s easy to forget some of the most important spaces in your room, the walls. This moon phases mirror set is a great design to throw up above your bed! Plus, it doubles as a witchy accessory to give your room some edge.
Dark Candle Stick Holde
These candle holders scream goth queen! It’s home decor that is a must for people that love witchy vibes and elegance. In order to live the dark academia life, you need to light your long, hauntingly beautiful candles and settle into a book late into the night.
Black Artificial Pampas Grass
Another fall decor for bedrooms. Stick these in the David bust vase (see next!) for a bit of sexy darkness to the space! Tip: emphasize your love of fall by surrounding it with a few small pumpkins.
Greek Roman Style Statue Vase
How fun! This David bust vase comes in two sizes - perfect for spaces of all sizes. Drop pampas grass in the fall and beautiful florals in the spring to style year round!
Antique Botanical Art Prints
Something fun for your interior design. These art prints work in almost any aesthetic, but especially dark and spooky. Stick a few in your guest room to upgrade the space and make your friends feel more at home in your haunted house. They’d also look great above a home bar where you can make some dirty martinis!
How to Decorate Your Bedroom for Fall
I love how easy it is to bring autumn into your room without the actual falling leaves (especially if you live in a not so seasonal place like LA), or revamping everything you own to be orange. Not that’d we’d judge if you did!
It only takes a few pieces to cozy up your living space and create a nice, warm aesthetic. Plus these ideas can go beyond the bedroom… so whether it’s your living room, kitchen, guest room or home office, let’s get decorating!
Different Decor Aesthetics For Fall
As I mentioned, we took this list into two directions: light and airy and dark academia. Honestly, I can vibe with both, but let’s get into it.
Light & Airy
A theme for fall people who love to enjoy the simplicity of this season, some #cottagecore vibes and natural elements. You’ll love this aesthetic if you enjoy hot cider, a warm spot to cuddle, and corn mazes.
For those that love the dark, old-age spookiness that fall has to offer… You don’t need a massive library in your house filled with old books to create the dark academia look. Add just a few pieces and you’ve got yourself the perfect dark and sexy space!
