I am SUCH a sucker for sequins. They’re bold, unexpected and spark so much joy. I’m convinced it’s impossible to be sad when you’re wearing a sequin outfit, which is why I love to hoard a great sequin piece whenever I find one. They never go out of style.
When I saw this colorful plus size jumpsuit in the Eloquii new arrivals section (and on sale!) I immediately got out my wallet and was like “HERE, TAKE MY MONEY!!!” *toss cash across the room* New Year’s Eve party outfit: check.
This heavenly, sparkly jumpsuit is from Eloquii and is part of their collaboration with blogger Rochelle Johnson of Beauti Curve. It’s available in sizes 14-28. I’m wearing a size 14 which fits like a dream – it’s comfy (no pinching when I sit down!) without looking baggy. I love the wrap on top to allow for additional room if you need it.

It pairs well with a bold red lipstick, heels and statement earrings, and you can toss on pretty much any color of coat on top and it’ll match since the sequin print is rainbow! The only thing I’ll be alternating is the leg length. I’m 5’5″ and even with heels, the leg is too long. But that’s just a quick $10 fix at my local tailor.
At the time of writing this post, this showstopper jumpsuit is on sale for just $59!!!! (Originally $170) I snapped this up on Black Friday morning but this sale is even better!! So run, don’t walk, over to Eloquii because these babies are selling like hotcakes.
Seriously – I was luckily quick on Black Friday. All their sequin plus size jumpsuits sold out fast the first round, but they restocked and now have some sizes available (and a second waitlist for sizes sold out.) So, keep an eye out for when your size returns because this wide-leg lil number is pure happiness.
Normally for New Year’s Eve, my husband and I love to go bar-hopping around our neighborhood here in San Francisco. Ubers are always stupid expensive, so we stick to the Inner Sunset. We usually get all dressed up, have dinner and then drinks. Sometimes our friends come to meet us and it’s always a party.
Of course, this year, we’re staying at home. *BOO COVID* We’ll be having a few virtual hangs with friends and I’ll be trying my BEST to stay awake until the ball drops at Midnight (but I’m a notorious early bird so we’ll see if I can make it!)
But just because we’re staying it, doesn’t mean we can’t still have a proper celebration. I’m going to be wearing this sequin jumpsuit because it’s festive and makes me happy. Plus it’s comfy, so I can totally curl up on the couch drinking my favorite local black-owned sparkling wine without any problems. And next year, I’ll be taking it to hit the town so it can have a proper New Year’s Eve party out.
Whatever you’re doing to ring in 2021, I hope you have a great night and here’s to a much, much better year ahead. Love you all!
