Why are rugs SO DANG EXPENSIVE?!
Seriously, that’s probably one of the things I felt the most-lied to when I became an adult. I was prepared for pricey healthcare and insurance and rent, but why did nobody warn me that rugs can easily cost hundreds to thousands of dollars?!
We live in San Francisco and are required by our lease to have rugs covering at least 80% of our floors. So, as you can imagine, we spend enough on our rent here each month, I wasn’t about to drop another few grand on rugs. Instead, I got to researching the best affordable rugs.
We have 9 rugs in our 480-square foot apartment (I hate that amount, too) and over half are from Rugs USA. They’re a great place to shop for affordable rugs that are cute, hold up over time, but don’t break the bank.
BUT, only if you shop during one of their sales. Rugs USA is one of those stores that I’ve noticed does sales for like, almost every mid-tier holiday. From Presidents’ Day to Labor Day (and of course, the big holiday Black Friday mega sales) odds are, there’s a 70% off sale happening around the time you need a new rug.
If there’s no sale happening the day you’re shopping, wait a couple of weeks and I’ll promise you that $500 rug you love will suddenly go on sale for under $200. #majorkey
With that, I wanted to share my favorite Rugs USA rugs with you that are all under $200!! Rugs are probably one of the most powerful home decor item you can have, in the sense that a rug can totally transform the way your room looks.
If you’re feeling stuck on your decor, instead of dropping $800 on the new Target Opal house decor pieces as I did, I’d start with swapping out a rug (which is easy and affordable if you snapped one up for under $200) and see how that changes the vibe of your room. I have a feeling it’ll be pretty impactful.
