This Week In Outfits: July 10th, 2021

  • July 10, 2021

I feel like summer is in full swing (finally). Last week Robin and I went camping up at Pinecrest Lake and I pretty much lived in this pink swimsuit and shorts. Coming back into foggy San Francisco was a bit of a jolt for me  — I need more sunshine! Thankfully I have more adventurous out of the fog soon. But in the meantime, I’ve been wearing a LOT of overalls, dresses and jumpsuits at home.

And I’ve been getting so many questions about my outfits lately on Stories, so I wanted to try a new type of post. Throwing it way back to my OG blogger days with simple iPhone shots showing off my #ootd and linking up all the pieces for you to shop if you want to, or get inspo on ways you can style your own similar pieces. Let me know if you like this idea in the comments below and I’ll keep doing it!

This Week In Outfits (July 3 – 10th)

Saturday

After coming back from camping, I unpacked, showered and pulled immediately pulled on this comfy linen romper from Madewell. It’s super breezy and lightweight for warm days (even though it was 50 and foggy outside my window – ha!) I’m wearing an XL but it runs big, so size down.

I paired it with this gold necklace from H&M, these gold bangles and thrifted earrings.

Sunday

Happy Fourth of July!! Robin and I spent the evening at our friend Aviva’s new house over in Oakland. I was super excited to meet their dog, Bella, and see some sunshine and fireworks on our drive home. (Usually, it’s so foggy in the city I can hear fireworks but can’t see them!) I loved watching them pop up all around the Bay.

For the party that evening I wore my new tan overalls from Old Navy that I literally can’t stop wearing. So dang comfy and so many pockets! Under I wore a thrifted red crop top (similar here) along with clay earrings (similar here.) For shoes, I went with my red Rothy’s that I adore. And TONS of sunscreen!

Monday

I spent most of Monday thinking it was Tuesday. So much so I did a long morning walk over to the Conservatory of Flowers here in San Francisco hoping to visit… only to see a “CLOSED” sign when I arrived. Because they aren’t open on Mondays. Opps!

I wore this smoked dress which has been a favorite of mine lately. It’s so comfy and breezy for the summer. White shoes to match the white in the dress, along with a red scrunchie. This black purse is my favorite purse, ever. It’s an anti-theft travel purse that I’ve had for years. I took a white one on our honeymoon across Europe and bought a black one a couple of years ago. Highly recommend!

Tuesday

While I was going to bed on Tuesday night, Robin pointed out to me that neither of us left the apartment the entire day — in fact, our front door was still bolted from the night before. Kinda felt like the early pandemic days. I spent most of Tuesday editing TikTok videos and writing new posts, so I wanted something comfy.

I love this mumu from Target (last seen on the blog here when I wore it to the Cook Islands.) Sadly, it’s sold out since it’s a few years old at this point. But I found a similar dress that’s in stock here and it’s under $25!  My headband is from. asmall local shop called Wallflower and Co. My black shoes are from Target.

Wednesday

Today was a big day of errands! Target (because I have an addiction) and Home Depot, that latter where I found big Boston ferns on sale for just $12! We added ferns in our shower for our bathroom makeover but kinda messed up with their pots and killed them all. It’s ok, we figured out the mistake so here’s to round two surviving!

Since summer in San Francisco is cold, foggy and windy, I wore my favorite Uniqlo black jumpsuit with pockets. It’s my go-to jumpsuit for travel days and errands. It’s 4 years old but I found a super similar style at Old Navy that’s in stock right now! Shoes from Target and so is the hat. Funny story about this hat – my friend Bri left it in my car last year and it sat in my back seat for literal months. Finally, she just gave it to me to keep so it came upstairs to my closet.

My cardigan is this fun jacket that I thrifted (last seen here in my $75 thrift haul post) I grabbed my Arden Cove purse again to match.

Thursday

Thursday morning was a little rough. I ran out right after breakfast to pick up Claritin from Walgreens since my seasonal allergies have been CRAZY lately. Only to try to check out and have my credit card declined. My bank decided to randomly place a lock on my card without telling me. Super fun adult stuff 🤪.

I got it solved that morning but I still had all the lingering stress hanging out in my body. So I decided to take Robin to Hook Fish Co for an impromptu lunch of fish sandwiches and poke to shake myself out of the funk. I had pulled on these Girlfriend Collective leggings and matching bra that morning, and they transitioned perfectly from errands to couch to lunch. White shoes comfy enough to walk all around town in, paired with a headscarf (thrifted), gold necklace and green heartshaped sunglasses (similar here.)

Saturday

I forgot to take a photo on Friday (opps!) Today, Saturday, is our weekly cleaning day. I have a go-go-go month coming up so I’m going to start my dreaded semi-annual deep clean so I can come back to a serene apartment at the end of August instead of a chaotic one.

I also have to re-pot some plants so the day really called for overalls. This black pair from Old Navy is super comfy. I’m wearing a 16 since it runs a bit small, so make sure to size up. At the time of writing this post, they are 30% off, too! I channeled some Rosie Riveter vibes with a red headscarf (thrifted) and red lipstick (this is my favorite right now.) My black bra is old, you can find something similar here.

So, that’s my week of outfits! Should I share my outfits next week?
