No good bachelorette party can leave behind the most important detail: the outfits.
I will never tire of finding any excuse to dress up everyone in my circle in coordinating styles. Outfits that make us either look like IG baddies or totally insane Barbie fanatics. Bachelorette parties are practically one big excuse to put on iconic outfits with your friends.
Sure, there’s Halloween and maybe a fun dress-up birthday party here or there, but nothing compares to bachelorette party outfits.
Why? Because the event lasts all weekend long and involves multiple costume changes. Go from being a hottie in a little black dress to wearing full-on 80s workout gear with your gals in a matter of days.
The possibilities are endless with bachelorette outfits and party themes, which can make it hard to pick sometimes. Lucky for you, I’ve curated the perfect list of bachelorette party outfit ideas for you to choose from!
What To Wear To A Bachelorette Party For Guests + Brides
Before we dive into the specifics of bachelorette outfit themes and bachelorette group outfits, I wanted to get the basics of what you should wear to a bachelorette party out of the way.
Sure, you may know what to wear as a wedding guest, but the bachelorette party can be a bit trickier.
For every bride and every party, there are different rules on how to dress, so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what you should be wearing. However, there are a few basic guidelines everyone should abide by in order for the bridal party and the bride to have the best time.
What To Wear To A Bachelorette Party As A Guest (& What To Avoid)
As a guest of the bride, your bachelorette party attire will likely be decided by the bride or the maid of honor. And while you can’t make any big calls on what to wear for the weekend, you can still keep these tips in mind to make sure you have a comfortable and hassle-free fun time!
Wear Comfortable Heels
Unless you’re getting married in your early 20s, there is no way you’re going to last a weekend or night full of partying in stilettos.
Opt for comfortable heels (or flats) because you’ll realize the shoes you wear will directly impact your mood at 2 am when you’re on the dance floor rocking your 5th long-island.
Plus, being in comfortable footwear lets you be a better bridesmaid because you’re able to focus on the bride and not your feet. This is especially important if you are doing a wine tasting bachelorette party! The best wine tasting outfits center around flats since drinking and heels never ever go together.
Wear Small Jewelry
If you’re going out on the town with everyone for the bachelorette party, don’t worry yourself with big, bulky jewelry. The best bachelorette party clothes are more simple.
This weekend could get wild, and it’s better to wear studded earrings or tight hoops that will still be there when you wake up than dangling earrings you’re going to leave in the bar bathroom.
Also, don’t bring your prized possessions like family rings, earrings, or necklaces to pair with your outfit ideas for bachelorette parties. It’s not worth it. Wait for the wedding to wear them!
It’s best to opt for small, minimal rings like this stacked ring that doesn’t break the bank if you have to replace.
NO White Anything
This rule might not apply as strictly to the bachelorette party as it does the wedding, but avoid white if you can.
Unless the bride is all about a white aesthetic, make sure your outfits for a bachelorette party are anything but white. Maybe a cream color is acceptable, but that’s still pushing it.
What To Wear To A Bachelorette Party As A Bride (& What To Avoid)
The bachelorette party outfit ideas for brides are some of my favorites. As the bride, you get to go ALL out and upstage everyone. But, there are still a few rules I would stick to so you remain the center of attention for the weekend.
At Least ONE Item that Says “Bride”
You have to. It’s the law. If you don’t, how are strangers supposed to congratulate you and make you feel like the queen of the world?
As the bride, you should have a hat, a sash, a robe – SOMETHING- that has the words “bride” written in big letters across it.
This is your day and your celebration. You found love, and you should be celebrated by everyone for it! Kara, our founder, wore a Bride sash one night during her real Austin bachelorette party and it was the perfect thing to get a lot of free drinks.
Wear Your Engagement Ring
Well, DUH.
You’re gonna need this bad boy all weekend, no matter what bachelorette party dress code ideas you instill.
Your engagement ring is one of the essential accessories to have on during your bachelorette party.
If you’re really planning on going crazy with the partying, I suggest opting for a faux ring from Amazon or Walmart. Just something to let everyone know you’re taken, but you don’t have to worry about losing it!
Avoid Clothes You Don’t Feel Comfortable In
This is an obvious one, but I know a lot of ladies who will sacrifice their comfort and their personal style to fit the aesthetic of the group.
You set the vibe. This is your day and you should wear EXACTLY what you want to wear. The bachelorette party group outfit ideas need to match you, not the other way around.
Make sure you’re clear with your maid of honor about what you’re going for and maybe put together a Pinterest board or two to give them some clear inspiration.
You don’t have to wear a dress, there’s tons of amazing white jumpsuits you can wear instead!

Themed Outfit Ideas For A Bachelorette Party
Okay, I’ve talked your ear off on what to wear to a bachelorette party, but I haven’t given you any specific ideas. Let’s fix that.
Here are some of my best bachelorette party dress ideas for every kind of bride and every kind of bridesmaid. Whether you’re looking for a low-key hangout or an all-out Vegas bash, I have the perfect outfits for your entire party.
Each theme has a little menu of items and clothes to choose from that I think would be great to wear out or in! We also have an entire guide on bachelorette party themes to use as inspo.
Aesthetic Bachelorette Party Outfits
In my opinion, the aesthetic bachelorette party dresses are my favorite. I want to feel like an Instagramable goddess all weekend long!
For this vibe, you want bachelorette party dresses that are classy, simple, and make you feel like you’re in your rich girl era. Opt for satin or silk maxi midi dresses in classic colors like champagne, black, white, cream, maroon, etc.
Depending on the season, you can dress these looks up with faux fur jackets, trench coats, or another high-fashion jacket and scarf.
Another way to be aesthetic for your bachelorette party ideas is to bring in some floral patterns and sundresses into the mix. Or you can opt for coastal maxi dresses in soft cotton fabric.
Whatever you decide to wear, it should be something you can wear to the bridal shower and possibly the wedding as well. Upscale, minimalist, and completely chic.
Fun Bachelorette Party Outfits
If you’re opting for fun or funny bachelorette outfit themes, then you’re definitely going to want the bridal party to dress fun too! I love seeing bach parties making the most of a fun night in the city whilst dressed like grannies or a classic Guy Fieri look. It’s so freeing from the typical garb!
What I especially love about fun bachelorette party outfits is the infinite possibilities to be matching with your besties before the big day. Whether you’re all going out as cowboys, barbies, or in your pajamas, fun party outfits are going to make the event that much more memorable!
These looks do best when you base it on the party’s main theme. For instance, if you’re having a Bond Girls party, the outfits need to match (ideally, some sleek black cocktail dresses and red lips.)
Or, similarly, if you’re having a Texas cowgirl-themed party, all your girls should be in cowboy boots, pink cowboy hats, tied-up plaid tops, or short sleeve dresses that scream classic country like a cute cow print.
Whichever fun theme you pick, you can start with some baseline dresses or skirts for all the girls to wear and the real magic can come with the new accessories (i.e. sleep masks, spy glasses, barbie hair accessories, etc.)
Here are a few pieces you can play around with to go with your party theme!
Barbie Bachelorette Theme
Barbie-core is at it’s height, and we totally get it! How fun to go all out in pink. All of these items could easily double as a fantastic Halloween costume, so win-win!
Cowgirl Bachelorette Theme
Then grab the bride this cute white cowboy hat, and you’re all set! These items are also great for a fun night on the town for a destination bachelorette trip to Nashville, Tennessee or even Austin, Texas! Plus cowboy boots are totally on trend right now, and are a great investment piece.
Rainbow Bachelorette Theme
This is a really easy theme for bridesmaids to pull from their existing closets. You just assign each gal a color (the bride is obviously wearing white!), and pack an outfit that fits that color. But these picks really up the ante!
Bond Girls Bachelorette Theme
Order a round of martinis because it’s Bond Night! Honestly, a super underrated theme. All you need is to dress all in black, and hit the town.
80s Workout Bachelorette Theme
Whether it’s a wellness retreat or your bride just really loves to dress in bold, bright colors, this is a super fun theme to dress up for. Not to mention, pretty comfy for dancing the night away.
Pajama Party Bachelorette Theme
Isn’t every bachelorette just a giant sleepover? So what better way to celebrate than in your jammies? Plus the easiest gift/accessory for the bridesmaids: matching eye masks and pjs that can be reworn the night before the wedding!
Taylor Swift Bachelorette Theme
Can you say, iconic? A Taylor Swift bash can go two ways: everyone chooses a different era, or you all dress in one. I think Fearless is the perfect era to dress in as the bride jumps into her new life, but Lover is a close second.
Destination Bachelorette Party Outfits
Similar to the fun bachelorette party outfits, these looks can vary widely. You can have your party guests in mini dresses (or even cute rompers!) for their appearance at the Vegas clubs, or you can add some class and have everyone dress up in beautiful summer dresses for a trip to Europe.
(Psst, if you want to soak up some sun and get away for your party, check out Kara’s 17 spots for a destination wedding in Cali!)
Wherever you go, the only thing you need to keep in mind for destination party outfits is they should have good style (yes, even if you go to Disney).
I like to think of this section as a blend of party and aesthetic outfits. The perfect occasion for wrap dresses! You can easily throw a tank top or swimsuit underneath depending on what the day brings, and still look cute!
Everyone should look their best, but the outfits don’t have to be so luxurious that they could double as wedding guest dresses. You can still wear floral dresses or swimsuits and be stylish without being too formal. Speaking of, check out these super cute swimsuits for curvy women that Kara found that would be perfect for a beach getaway.
Most also come in plus sizes which is always a win, and perfect to throw on something quick before heading to the pool with your girls!
Here are a few looks to pull from depending on where you’re going!
Vegas Destination Bachelorette Party Outfits
Vegas is the QUINTESSENTIAL place for both bachelorette and bachelor parties! And the dress code? Pretty simple: sparkles, heels and a good time.
Disney Destination Bachelorette Party Outfits
The key to dressing for Disney is comfort, but doesn’t mean you can’t look cute. Whether you’re dressing to theme like a cute Minnie Mouse look with a polka dot skirt contrasting with your “Bridal Minnie” or just looking for something easy to throw on like a cute track set. You’ve got options! But you can’t forget the ears.
Europe Destination Bachelorette Party Outfits
If you’re going to Europe for a bachelorette, can you take me with you?? But also, I totally get it. These days, flights to Europe are less expensive than domestic! Outfits would probably vary by destination, activities and weather. But these are some solid options! You can also check out:

New Orleans Destination Bachelorette Party Outfits
If you want to go all out, but not quite a Vegas vibe… New Orleans is it! You can hit Bourbon Street, go on a ghost tour and eat all the best the city has to offer. Plus you can have fun with outfits!
Poolside Destination Bachelorette Party Outfits
You could literally be anywhere with a pool, and the packing list is the same: swimsuits, coverups and a cute hat. You really can’t go wrong. Just don’t forget the sunscreen!
Show Themed Bachelorette Party Outfits
If you’ve got a bride obsessed with Harry Potter or Bridgerton, it’s likely that you’re going to be attending or throwing a party themed after that particular show or movie.
Getting to shop for a show-themed bachelorette party is so much fun and you can choose how crazy you want to dress!
If it’s Harry Potter theme, the whole crew can be dazzled out in full wizard garb, or you can opt for smaller pieces like ties, glasses, wands, etc.
It’s up to the bride and the maid of honor to decide how full-on they want to go with new dresses, new costumes, accessories, etc. but it’s always a blast.
Your bride may have a very specific show in mind that they want to do, but if she’s still unsure, here are some outfits from well-known, iconic shows and movies that a lot of people love.
Bridgerton Themed Bachelorette Party Outfits
PS these can be reused if you go to the Bridgerton event pop-up traveling the US!
Harry Potter Themed Bachelorette Party Outfits
We’re major Harry Potter lovers over here.
Mamma Mia Themed Bachelorette Party Outfits
Those are all my outfit inspo ideas for you to use! These looks work for every body and everyone. When picking outfits for a bachelorette party, keep in mind all your bridesmaids. Everyone wants to feel beautiful and a part of the crew, so opt for options that work for tiny, plus-size, short, and tall girlies.
Bachelorette Party FAQs
Before we wrap up, here are a few answers to a few more questions you may be asking yourself before hosting or attending a bachelorette party.
Are You Supposed to Give a Gift at a Bachelorette Party?
Not necessarily. Giving a gift is not a requirement at a bachelorette party, but it does add a nice touch to the festivities.
If you are planning on bringing a gift, let the other bridesmaids know so they can potentially bring something, too. Nothing feels worse than showing up empty-handed and not knowing everyone else was bringing a gift.
Who Pays for a Bachelorette Party?
Unlike a wedding, the bachelorette party cost is usually split between the guests.
This is an important factor to take into account if you are planning a very expensive party that not all your bridesmaids can afford. You should take into consideration everyone’s finances and make sure you’re accommodating to your guest’s budget.
Making sure everyone is comfortable with the cost will save you so much stress and tension.
Oh, and if you’re looking for budget-friendly outfits, always go with the sale section of any website OR (if you’re planning far enough in advance) score some major looks during Black Friday or a Cyber Monday sale.
