I’ve always loved this corner in my neighbor’s apartment. It feels like something you’d find in a house owned by Edger Allen Poe. Or, possibly, the Slytherin Common Room?
When I saw this bat sweater from Modcloth online, I instantly pictured myself right here in the corner in that sweater. Work with me here: it’s a foggy day out and gloomy, the scent of an Amber Vetiver candle is somewhere and I’m nose-deep into a Harry Potter novel for the millionth time. Maybe, maybe I’m not in San Francisco… maybe my dreams of being accepted into Hogwarts has come alive at last – yes, yes, I’m there in my common room at last!
So, I made that come to life for this fall-themed photoshoot!
I think this bat sweater is something Modcloth brings around each Halloween / fall season since I recognize it from other bloggers from last year. (Update: it’s back again in 2024!)
It’s super cute and instantly turns any outfit into something a little more ~spooky~. I got a medium since the large and XL was sold out — though if I bought it again, I think I would opt for like, a 2x to get a super oversized cozy sweater for cuddling on the couch.
This jumper is also from Modcloth. I’m wearing a large in this. The fabric is incredibly soft and makes work sessions from the couch comfy AF. I paired the look with earrings from A Little More, a small owned jewelry business. The headband is from ASOS last year.
As you know, I’m a proud Slytherin. Robin is a Ravenclaw. We love listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks together about once a year. We started on our honeymoon trip to Scotland, and then again last year on our van trip from California to Oregon. And of course, I insist on a movie marathon usually both in October for Halloween AND in December for Christmas. I can’t get enough!
