It’s not just me – everyone I show this candle to smells it and says “wow, that does smell just like Ireland!”
I knew it was the perfect pick for my September Candle Of The Month recommendation. I know, you’re probably thinking: an Ireland candle should be your March candle pick! Well, Saint Patrick’s Day and Ireland is rather cliche, plus, I personally think the country actually shines in the early fall.
See, Robin and I got married in September 2017 and went on a long 3 week honeymoon across Europe, spending a good chunk in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Late September and early October in Ireland was heavenly. We barely had any rain and leaves were starting to turn bright colors, but the hillsides were still bright green.
And that’s what I love about September. It comes in with heat and summer vibes but by the end of the month, you’re crunching the first fallen leaves under your boots and snuggling down in big sweaters against the fall chill.
These Ireland scented candles by Roots and Blooms capture the fragrance of Ireland in the fall perfectly. It has notes of leather and tobacco, which makes me feel like I’m in a cozy Irish pub watching the first of the fall leaves start to drop.
It’s made of 100% soy wax, is phthalate free, uses essential oils and is handmade right here in San Francisco. Here’s the note breakdown:
Middle Notes: Clove, Tobacco Leaf, Ginger
Base Notes: Whiskey, Leather and Cedarwood
Let me tell you – the throw is STRONG on this one. I kept the candle unburnt and in its box by the bed for a couple of weeks before photographing it and even without burning the scent it was strong. While lit, it fills my living room nicely.
Roots and Blooms is founded by Brittney Kerrigan, another Midwest gal who ran away from home to San Francisco! After a long trip around the world, she learned about other culture’s beauty regimes and herbs, came home to the United States and started studying herbalism. Here, Brittney launched her own natural skincare and home line, Roots and Blooms, which is rooted in combination toxic-free ingredients and travel.
I love this Ireland candle, and there’s also a Paris and Bali one. Brittney doesn’t just sell deliciously scented wax candles – you can shop other natural products like body butters and serums in her online store.
If you’re on the hunt for a September candle idea, you’ll love this as a gift to yourself. Add it to your cart asap so you can start burning and truly get in that fall mood.
I wanted to return to Ireland the second we left, but this candle will help tide me over until that happens.
