My first international trip was 8th grade when I went to Mexico with my Middle School Spanish class. I got hooked on traveling and have been running around the world ever since.
I’ve also been curating all the best travel accessories and gear that makes wandering the world easier and more enjoyable.
If you’ve also got the travel bug, or shopping for gifts, these are all my personal favorite tools I use on trips from California to Copenhagen and beyond.
I also tapped our team to share their go-to travel accessory for the best dang list out there.
The Travel Wallet from Béis is compact and has just enough space for the essentials with organizational pockets for money, coins, passport, credit cards and you can even squeeze your phone! Perfect for the airport or wandering around a new city!
I adore my Teva Universal Trail sandals and wear them everywhere (from trails to cities to waterfalls since they're waterproof!) They're sturdy, comfy, non-slip and the perfect outdoor travel sandal on the market. Tip: size down when ordering.
The Baggu Fanny Pack is perfect for everyday and travel! It has so much space for everything you might need. I carry hand sanitizer, sunscreen, my phone and wallet, and still have plenty of room!
Arden Cove offers some of the best anti-theft purses for international travel. They're stylish and functional and you can fit so much stuff in these purses. Plus, they're waterproof and slash-proof. I bring mine on all my trips.
We love this sunscreen for daily use! It's lightweight and clear - making it perfect for wearing with or without makeup!
I love my Rothy's, and always pack them when I'm traveling! The Original Slip On Sneakers in Sand go with everything, and can be worn in all types of weather!
I love how this sits on top of my suitcase for easy rolling in airports. It fits a laptop (a must!) plus features a shoe sleeve and internal pockets including water bottle pockets. And it sits comfortably under plane seat for easy access to must have items!
Whimsy Editor Taylor has been using this carry on for 2+ years now and loves how it she can easily organize with the internal pockets and separate pouch bags for shoes and dirty clothes. She's also been saved by the weight indicator often before heading to the airport!
Can't leave home without this! The size is perfect to easily fit into any bag (no matter how much you over pack!), and charges really fast!
Ever wonder how travel influencers' clothes always seem to look picture perfect? A travel steamer is an absolute game changer! This one has duel voltage for crisp clothes whenever I travel!
For longer trips (like my summer in Copenhagen), a solid big bag is key, and Away has a warranty for free suitcase if it breaks!
Have you ever reach for your phone charger cord only to have it wrapped around whatever is at the very bottom of your bag? This tech organizer helps keep track of all my cords (phone, chargers, camera, laptop, battery chargers, etc)!
The Brevite Camera Backpack fits a large DSLR in the bottom. I use on trips with a lot of hiking or time outside to carry and protect my camera!
This is the camera I use for all my travel photos plus this Canon EF 24-70mm lens and this ND filter which helps cut down on glare and brightness outside!
Before I leave my apartment, I always weigh checked bag to make sure I don't have to be that person moving things around on the airport floor.
The older I get, the most my feet swell up on planes. On the way back from Copenhagen I feel asleep without taking my sandals off and I woke up to sheering pain since my feet were so swollen and cutting into the sandal straps.
Safety first! I also add in tums, pain killers, ear plugs, and other meds you use (lactaids, etc).
I have this rain shell, and I love it because it packs small and keeps you super dry!
A reusable water bottle is a must for every trip! I like this one because it packs down in a bag while you're on the go.
I stick the Apple Airtag into my checked bags so I can keep track of them, and make sure they don't get left behind or stolen!
Super handy if you plan on bringing back wine, olive oil, etc anything that can break and leak in your suitcase!
I use these all the time on trips, especially warm weather trips where I'm kayaking or geting out on the water!
If you're traveling internationally, you can make sure to stay charged!
A genius way to bring my favorite perfume with me while I travel without hauling the whole bottle!
Love this because it keeps my brushes organized in my bag! Plus it has a magnetic closure and made with easy to clean silicon material.
On my wish list, I haven't tried yet because they are always sold out but looks like a clever way to pack razors.
These have helped me to slim down on packed items. I use for fancy face creams and heavy things like hair product!
Packing cubes are a no brainer to keep clothing organized in a suitcase!
Keeping my makeup organized is not only great for packing up from place to place, but it's also helps to speed up my morning so I can get to exploring!
A laundry bag like this helps stay organized and keep clothes fresh throughout your trip. Some suitcases come with one so you may not need it!
I adore World Nomads for travel insurance, especially when I know I'll be doing something outdoorsy like snowshoeing or sea kayaking. They cover those activities and not all travel insurances do! They're affordable, fair and easy to use.
- Easy to buy before a trip
- Plans are tailored to your needs

The Alleyoop Beauty MVP Set includes a clear cosmetic bag filled with its beauty bestsellers: 4-in-1 makeup brush, 4-in-1 touch up pen, eyeshadow & liner stick, blush, bronzer & highlighter trio.
I LOVE my Point Flats from Rothy's. I've worn them all over the world - from small islands to large cities and everything in between. They're packable, washable and so comfy.
- Many colors
- sleek, timeless style
- made with 11 plastic bottles
- bendy & packable!

Thanks for the info and tips on Los Cabos. We’ve found that we wanted even more time in Todos Santos than one day to experience more of the charm and beauty, in addition to the neighboring beach town of El Pescadero, with its own great restaurants, Coyote, Barracuda and Hierbabuena, to name a few. In TS, we loved Jazamango (both locations), Las Tunas Coffee shop, casa Adobe, Oystera (for fancy) and Tiki Santos (for casual). Can’t wait to go back and discover all the ones we ran out of time for!
