Turkey day is almost here!
As a size 14, I know how much of a struggle bus it can be to find the right Thanksgiving outfit ideas. I’m always looking for something that doesn’t pinch my waist after I stuff myself with tons of mashed potatoes and wine, but looks polished for family time. It needs to have fall vibes and ideally not break the bank to buy or style.
I know from Instagram you guys also struggle to find curvy and plus size fashion finds for Thanksgiving so I scoured the interwbes for YOU to find the cutest, comfiest and Thanksgiving-est clothing pieces to shop this November!
Growing up in the Midwest, we would always gather around with family at someone’s house. Football was always in the background and the day was pretty much just spent eating and sitting as I caught up with family. These days, we don’t always fly back home (we live in San Francisco now), so my husband and I usually love to have friendsgiving with other transplants.
Some years I’m really into dresses, something loose to wear that’s also pretty. Lately, though, I’ve been gravitating towards pants and sweaters for the fall. You can make this casual or super dressed up depending on the pieces you choose. I just can’t do jeans without unbuttoning them at the end of the night!

My Favorite Size-Inclusive Stores
WHY is it so hard to find trendy plus size shirts or dresses that don’t look like a grandma would wear them? When you search Pinterest outfits for fall looks, it’s all thin women wearing very trendy pieces, but when you head to stores, the plus size section is just not there. It sucks.

What are you doing this year for Thanksgiving? Robin and I have been traveling a LOT this year so we’re staying home for Thanksgiving. We’ll probably be getting together with friends to eat a bunch of food, nibble on cheese plates and drink way to much California wine. As you know, Robin loves to cook so I’ll probably volunteer him for the turkey (he does a great beer salt rub thing that’s to die for!)
I haven’t yet picked out my Thanksgiving outfit but I think I’ll be going with stretchy pants and a nice blouse. It doesn’t get that cold here in San Francisco in November so sweaters are usually overkill, especially in a hot apartment with people.
