If you’re anything like me, you’re always planning your next trip. Personally, I consider this a positive mental health practice because it gives me something to look forward to.
Plus I love planning so it really just brings me a lot of joy. So I’m always looking for travel inspiration, like where should I go next?
I look to many places before deciding my next destination, but word of mouth is always a safe bet, so we asked the Whimsy Soul team what their favorite travel destinations are.
What’s Your Favorite Place You’ve Traveled? 14 Destinations From The Whimsy Soul Team
Surprisingly, we only got one repeat answer, and a bunch of great destinations that are definitely on my list.

This is SO hard to pick, but Scotland is one of those places I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since we visited a few years ago. I also am a sucker for California, there are just so many unique corners to explore in this state. Want to visit the desert? Mountains? Waterfalls, or maybe rugged coastlines or perhaps Redwoods? Wait, we always have volcanoes, islands and lakes. We have everything here.
Taylor (me!)
Paris is my top pick! It had everything I love: coffee in little cafes, bookstores and culture.
I also loved my time in Banff National Park (back in 2019!), and most recently Madeira, Portugal.

Anyplace I haven’t been before! But of the places I have traveled to, London, Tokyo, and Hawaii have been among my favorites.
Have you ever visited somewhere that you LOVED as soon as you laid eyes on it? London is like that for me. Maybe it’s the museums, or the parks, or the landmarks around every corner. Whatever it is, I’ve been three times and would go back 300 more.
Tokyo is perfect for experiences that you simply can’t find anywhere else, from watching sumo wrestling to catching your own fish to be made into sushi tableside to exploring multi-story arcades in the Akihabara district. Tokyo is also VERY easy to navigate, even if you don’t know a lick of Japanese, and it’s an excellent foodie destination, so I’d recommend it to just about anyone.
Hawaii! What can I say? I love a beach! (And mai tais.) I’ve only been to the Big Island, and half the trip was beset by storms, so I’d travel to the Hawaiian islands again in a heartbeat.
Meg actually created a cocktail inspired by her time in Japan so you should definitely check out the Pink Sakura: A Cherry Blossom Sake Cocktail (Nigori Sake & Cherry Liquor). Or if you’re heading to Disneyland soon, you can’t miss her complete guide of Everywhere You Can Drink at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park.
